Situated in Port Aransas, this lovely house for $559 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Welcome to “Port A Tropical Hideaway”, a beautiful vacation home composed of a home and apartment. With 5 bedrooms, sunroom and 4 full bathrooms, this two-story house can accommodate up to 16 guests. This rental gem is the ultimate getaway for family and friends. You'll love the apartment, game room, tiki bar, fire pit, 4 different patios and decks included to allow guests to relax and enjoy the space. Located less than a mile from the beach and marina, this “Old Town” prime location, just off Alister and Cotter access roads lets you explore some of the best Port A attractions has to offer. The property is within walking distance of some of the area's most sought after restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream parlors, music venues, nightlife, art galleries and great shopping. There's no need to worry about transportation if you’d rather leave the golf carts and vehicles behind. The city of Port Aransas offers a heated community pool, skate park, basketball courts, baseball fields, playground and beautiful park on the ship channel to watch the dolphins in the mornings and late afternoons, all a short drive away. The backyard and front yard are lovely outdoor spaces with lush landscaping featuring oak trees, palm trees and high privacy fence to enjoy. The “Port A Tropical Hideaway” owners have thought of all the details to ensure guests have the best possible experience in the property. Don't forget the game room with a real Tiki Bar with seating for 7, mini fridge, pool table, commercial foosball table, TV and high bar table with seating for two to watch all the fun. The main home entry on the upper floor leads to a spacious living room with two oversized sofas, wingback chairs and a TV mounted over the electric fireplace. The kitchen island has four bar chairs and a separate dining area for seating six. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare delicious meals for family and friends. This open-concept layout creates an inviting space for everyone to gather, chat, laugh and make lasting memories. Upstairs there are two bedrooms. A king bed with full private bath and a full bath next to the other a king guest room, each with TVs. The sunroom is located off the kitchen. It has an extra-long twin daybed with a standard twin trundle bed. The downstairs apartment is accessible from the front of the home or from the back of the home going into the game room. It has a small living area with a futon sofa, side table, coffee table, a large TV, and kitchenette with breakfast area seating for four. The kitchenette has a full-size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster, griddle, electric skillet and kitchenette supplies. Downstairs, you will find three bedrooms. There is a twin-over-full bunk bed in the bedroom located off the game room and a full bath. A queen bed located off the kitchen/breakfast area. A full-over-full bunk bed located near the front entry. There is another full bathroom off the living space. There are two additional full-size futons for extra sleeping space located in the full-over-full bedroom and living area of the apartment. The front deck has a love seat, coffee table, two chairs and an outdoor rug with a ceiling fan to cool off. The back deck has two seating areas, two outdoor rugs, four rocking chairs, two side tables, and three chairs. There are two loveseats, a coffee table and an outdoor rug underneath the deck. It's the perfect space to play games, store your coolers, chairs and beach toys. Just outside the game room, there is a patio with a fire pit, two rocking chairs and four chairs. A private enclosed outdoor shower is located below the front staircase to enjoy after a long day at the beach. There is ample parking for 3 standard sized vehicles on the driveway ,2 standard sized vehicles in the garage and parking for 2 standard sized vehicles in front of the house on the street. The home was designed to be rented multiple ways depending on the number of guests and rental season by having separate entrances to the upstairs right main home, the downstairs right apartment and the game room. There are no interior doors or stairways leading to each. This allows guests their own private spaces when needed. The “Port A Tropical Hideaway” is located in the heart of Port Aransas with some original homes in the area as well as newly built homes. It has a unique location in “Old Town” Port Aransas, and many guests rent a golf cart to enhance their beach experience due to easy access to everything!!! Be sure to rent golf carts ahead of time and know the golf cart rules and safety of the island. We booked this property for a large group of 12 that we’re going on a charter fishing trip. The house was only a few blocks from the dock making it very convenient to walk to the dock the morning of the trip. The house was plenty large enough to accommodate our group and it had a perfect layout with a gameroom, bedrooms, living area and small kitchen downstairs for those “night owls”, and a large kitchen living area, and additional bedrooms upstairs for those of us who prefer to hit the sack a bit earlier. The house was very clean and the owner did a great job communicating and responding to any questions. They were also nice enough to extend our stay when our trip got postponed at the last minute due to weather. We had a great time and would highly recommend this property!

This house was perfect for what we wanted. Super nice and clean and plenty of beds to house multiple families. The location was great too. 2-4 min. Golf cart ride to the store and 5 or less to the beach! Will def be staying here again.

We had a great time and would definitely go again ! Host was excellent and always available for any questions we had about our stay. We loved the layout of the house it provided privacy needed for two families. The house is walking distance to many restaurants and bars. We walked to the fishing pier which is around a mile away. The kitchen was beautiful and well equipped with cooking utensils. Needless to say we had a great time and would love to do it again!

The house is perfect for families looking to get away and spend time together, while allowing everyone to have their own quiet areas as well. Very comfortable and inviting. We love Port Aransas and this house is in a great location. We can't wait to return!

Stephanie went above and beyond making repairs left by a faulty air unit to have the house ready in time for our multi family vacation. Spacious, clean and comfortable home that was enjoyed by all the kids and adults! Not walking distance to the beach but a fun cart ride to our favorite spot. Young adults loved being in the heart of night activity.

There were many things we loved about this place. We rented the upstairs house with downstairs apartment. We stayed for 3 nights and would have chosen four with the “stay 3 nights get fourth free”. Due to lack of the owner answering the three messages I sent through VRBO, this didn’t happen. I found the owner very unresponsive until the day we checked out due to her not having a signal. However, the property manager Cheri was very helpful (as much as she could be, since not the owner) and worked with us on a few issues.
Pros are: great living room, large and cozy couches to hang out on, lots of room in kitchen which was well equipped with cookware, etc. Small front porch, upstairs back porch, and fire pit area downstairs were nice to hang out on and allowed movement around to the front or back of the house when it got too windy. Upstairs beds were comfy. Downstairs game room was fun along with the bar. Lots of games were provided. Fireworks for NYE were visible from the front porch! Quiet area.
Cons: garage door broke the first time we tried to close using door opener, door codes and locks took a bit getting used to as some stayed unlocked while others locked right away which inconvenient with everyone trying to remember codes for upstairs/downstairs, double bunk beds weren’t very comfortable, terrible smell in game room area near the half bath and bedroom similar to mothballs so much so no one stayed in that room, dehumidifiers throughout downstairs were all full and had to be emptied right away, small fridge in downstairs kitchen smelled strongly of bleach, so no food or ice went in there, foosball table had to be opened to get the balls out a few times (only a problem when little kids are playing and balls are gone in a flash!), upstairs fridge was missing a shelf and the property manager wasn’t made aware by previous renters, difficulty with tv remote(s) and no instructions, no remote for fireplace or instructions, neighbor walking by suggested not to leave anything in our vehicles (good to know).
Suggestion to provide a binder with info on the property, places to eat, as well as info on remotes, batteries, light bulbs, and so on. Instructions on manually open/close garage door (my husband used to install them for a living).
Have dehumidifiers downstairs plumbed to drain out continuously may help with smell.
Some of these issues were due to off season so it didn’t spoil our fun, would return again with large group!

Had a great vacation, the weather was perfect. My kids had so much fun at the beach during our stay. Had a few issues with the house...several light bulbs were out. I have young kids so, having the downstairs completely separate from the upstairs was inconvenient. I didn't want them sleeping down there anyways because it smelled like mold. Theres also a separate unit attached that I wasn't aware of until I booked the home. That would have been a deal breaker for me, because again I have children and I didn't want to be next door to some random guy. So we all slept upstairs. Also, there was no laundry soap so we had to buy our own in order to wash their towels before we left.

My family certainly enjoyed our stay over Thanksgiving. Plenty of room, great kitchen and space for everyone to with gather or find their own solitude for awhile. Fire pit in back yard was an added bonus. Will look forward to doing it again.

The property was nice. Been a little cooler we probably would have sat outside more. Pictures need to be updated on the site. You have to go outside to get to the bottom rooms, with little kids, it doesn't work very well. I know you can't always determine when somethings will break down. the air conditioner downstairs wasn't working. We had to give up 2-3 hours of our time to wait till they fixed it. We did see a few roaches and we found mouse droppings, but no mice.

Well really enjoyed our stay here. Very spacious for the 12 of us. Adults and kids all took advantage of the game room, which is one of the main reasons we chose this home. Great location. Close to stores, restaurants, and just a short drive to beach. Nice to have outside shower to wash sand off after a day at the beach. Home was fully stocked and even had a bottle of wine and a couple bags of coffee waiting for us. Melanie was a great host and made sure our needs were taken care of. We would definitely rent this home again in the future for lots of family fun!!

We stayed here this weekend to celebrate my son's graduation. This house is huge! It was perfect! Everyone was entertained the entire time. Check in and out were a breeze! When they say fully equipped kitchen, they mean FULLY equipped. Definitely looking forward to staying here again.
