All aspects of visit were top class it might be nice to have a breakfast service but understand the added cost it would give the establishment but overall very impressed with the staff and facilities

The bed was comfortable and relaxing, and the room and bathroom were spacious, obviously well maintained, clean and tidy. The young lady personally accompanied to my room and was very polite. The bar was pleasant enough and parking was easy. The staff were as helpful as they could be. Really no issue with the accommodation.
The reasons for the low score for 'Facilities' and location' are as follows: I returned to the premises by taxi shortly before half past ten at night to find the place in complete darkness. I was told that last orders at the bar was at that time but that obviously wasn't the case - it was much earlier. The food I felt was over-priced; bangers and mash comprised three small sausages and a scoop of mash with dried onions and gravy (no peas) for £16. It wasn't particularly filling - more like a bar snack - and I had to eat again later on. The pub/restaurant is in a residential area and quite a way from St Helens centre and you would need a car to travel to the premises.
