Located in Stoke Gabriel, this charming cottage for $178 per night is a great choice for your next break. Mill House is a Grade II listed building of historic interest. Ground floor rooms have beamed ceilings and all rooms overlook the Mill Pool. The cottage is situated right by the Mill Pool, a non tidal creek off the River Dart estuary. You enter the house through a stone porch, which leads into the living room with the kitchen off to you right. There is a small garden at the rear and a paved terrace at the front where you can watch the world go by as well as any activities on the Mill Pool. The cottage, while being very comfortable and ideal for a relaxing holiday, is also well suited for walking, fishing, or a sailing holiday and there are beaches, coastal and estuary walks, and Dartmoor nearby. Disappointed that there was no welcome pack.A few small points to make. 1. several items of crockery chipped. 2. Toilet brushes were disgusting. 3. Mark on sheet.( Mould ) 4. Lack of soap. Location great, house lovely. Regards. Graham

My family and I had a lovely stay in Mill Cottage with great views of the mill pond and very close to the River Shack where we enjoyed meals and drinks. Stoke Gabriel is an idyllic Devonshire village and a must to go and visit! We had great weather which made the holiday even more enjoyable. Will definitely visit again!

We had a” lovely week in Mill House, it’s a very handy place to stay for the Mill pond and estuary , especially if you like paddle boarding or canoeing. House ideal for us as a family with dogs. Great stay.

We had a self catering holiday to visit family. We used the cottage as a launch pad for days out to the beach and walks. We enjoyed walks around the village to the pub, the church and the shack. I would definitely visit again.

We stayed for 4 nights and were very lucky to have the best weather possible for our trips on the river. We have stayed many times here and it feels almost like our own holiday house. It’s the perfect accommodation for us and the perfect location with water views from the house and now the addition of a lovely garden to sit in for meals.

Lovely cottage surprisingly spacious and well laid out with everything you could need for time away from home. Stoke Gabriel is a lovely location with lots of great walks in the door step.

Great find every thing you need for 6 comftable beds and showers great.Would have liked to have had to try the burner but no need.Fantastic location near to village pubs and great base for exploring local area would stay again any time

The location was brilliant for seeing this part of Devon. The setting was absolutely fantastic, we never tired of the view or the peaceful environment. The accommodation was charming and well equipped. One or two things would have made this holiday home even better. On arrival it would have been helpful to have a small welcome pack containing fresh milk, coffee sachets, tea bags and buns/biscuits, as we have experienced in other holiday lets. We had not expected to have to provide our own toilet paper. I texted the manager about the diminishing supply but received no response, so purchased a pack. When I visited her that evening she said the shortage was because new cleaners were employed and it was their job to ensure an adequate supply. She offered to contact them so they could remedy the situation but we had already done this. It would have been helpful if she had explained this by replying to my text in the morning. She was able to provide us with a fresh bin bag on refuse collection day. In the main bedroom ensuite, the intermittent start up noise of the macerator at irregular intervals during the night when not in use was loud, annoying and disturbing. It would be really helpful to be able to turn this off when not in use. There were only 3 of us in the house. We think 7 would be overcrowded. I hope this is a helpful review for people considering this property.

A little gem of a place in the quaintest little welcoming village. Great accommodation. Lots to do in the area. Booking process was easy. Accessing the cottage was easy with very clear instructions. All necessary information about the cottage was available including what to do at the end of the stay. Very thorough and straightforward, clear concise information. We will be back.

This is one of the best rentals properties that we have used. It is very well equipped with easy to use appliances, full instructions and is exactly as described in the web site. It is comfortable, beautifully situated, with a lovely garden. It was our second stay, and I would thoroughly recommend it.

Thank you for a fantastic stay at your cottage. When we arrived we were surprised how big it was and as an extended family the 2 bedroom wings worked really well. The cottage was very clean and we really enjoyed lighting the wood burner after beening out in the grey damp weather. The cottage is very well equipped and even has a games cupboard which we made use of. Thank you for a really lovely stay.

As a family of 4 enjoyed the location of the property in Stoke Gabriel. Access to the Dart for paddle boarding, kayaking and crabbing. Need the use of the car to visit the attractions of the area. Steam train to Dartmouth from Paignton. the beach and waterpark at Goodrington... the English Heritage castles nearby and the shops and sights of Totnes. House comfortable, in need of an uplift, bathroom showing significant signs of damp with mould on the walls Mattresses, all bar the main bedroom, would benefit from changing as rather spring. Overall great spot to enjoy this part of Devon

My family and I had the most memorable time staying at Mill House located in the picturesque village of Stoke Gabriel. The Vrbo description is accurate and guests will be pleasantly surprised with the property and village. Stunning views and walks. Kayaking was perfect but a bit pricey. The River Shack is a must. The food, location and personnel were exquisite. I would highly recommend Mill House and Stoke Gabriel.

Our favourite place!

We have stayed here many times over around 15 years and always choose this property if it is available. It is perfect for our needs, close to the riverside but not right at the edge, which was noisy when staying in other properties. The house facilities are just right and the kitchen large and easy to use. The addition of a downstairs cloakroom is useful when the house is full. The addition of the garden and patio recently is an extra bonus and just makes this property our no.1 choice.
