We really didn't like our stay in this house.
Firstly, we were informed that there were earwigs and humidity bugs when we called from Clarenville. I had read in the comments that there were some, but I didn't realize how many. In one evening, we killed around 50. It was horrible, they were everywhere: on the counter, in the curtains, on the tables and all over the floor. Normally I would have expected around ten, but we were nowhere near that number. Secondly, the local person told us that all the houses in Trinity had this problem. However, we rented two other houses this week and we found no insects...
There is a strong smell of damp in the house, especially under the kitchen sink; the smell was sometimes unbearable.
Cleaning in some areas had not been done for a very long time, which meant that the house, in general, was very dirty.
Finally, among the broken windows, there is one that is slightly offset, so it becomes sharp. It's not very safe.
I would have liked to be informed in advance of the real condition of the premises, because I would not have rented it. We lost a lot of money and a day of travel finding another place to stay. It was a frustrating experience. I wrote to the owner after my trip, but i didn't have any return.

A stunning view of Trinity from the comfort of the living room in this lovely and spacious cottage style home in Trinity. It felt like stepping into a family cottage handed down through the generations with bits and pieces from every decade for a hundred years. We loved the old cottage feel with the comforts of today (internet, wifi, heat and plumbing!) The location was perfect for our 24 hour stay. We appreciated the coffee, tea and sugar in the kitchen, the abundance of clean towels and soap in the bathroom and the spacious bedrooms. Thank you for providing a home away from home for one night in your beautiful, historic town.

The property is an authentic old home in a very authentic community. Enjoyed the area very much.

Clean and cozy cottage feel. Enjoyable and comfortable. Some squeaky hinges could need some wd40 but everything was great. Able to use the bbq which was extremely nice!

We have never stayed in a historic home before, and this one is so very charming, clean, and comfortable. The location was perfect for our adventures on the Bonavista Peninsula; and we really enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants, shops, and all that Trinity has to offer from this house. The views from this house were amazing as well. Check in and out were very easy, communication with the host was excellent. Highly recommend.

Wish we could have spent more time exploring the town but feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to spend two nights at this property.

We felt welcomed right away and really appreciated Dot flexibility on our late arrival and helping us find the place. Thanks to Rebecca for the suggestion on place to visite in the area. Especially Random Passage that we wouldn’t have found without Rebecca’s recommendation and that the all family really enjoyed 😁 . We really enjoyed staying in this lovely house

Pros: great location, picture perfect views of Trinity; beautifully restored property stepping back in time with gorgeous artwork and artifacts on display; lots of kitchen supplies and lots of linens - (though a keurig coffee pot would be nice).
Cons: earwigs! lots of earwigs; uncomfortable single beds in loft area (I'd suggest comfy mattress toppers for each bed and the placement of a curtain rod on the side of the outside bed and at the bottom, fastened to the chimney in that area, to create privacy at night, while being drawn back during the day to provide an air of whimsy); a more updated bathroom upstairs would be ideal.

We loved this saltbox home, especially the main living area with it's chimney in the middle. There are 2 private bedrooms with comfortable queen beds and 2 additional single beds in the upstairs area. These may be more suitable to children but our entire group of 4 adults were managed fine which each having their own bed. The deck and the view off the house are amazing. Instructions to the house were perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in Trinity and would have liked if we could have stayed longer. Thank you!

Our family of six enjoyed this charming and historic house overlooking Trinity. It had great views of the town and harbor. The house is well preserved and has wonderful woodwork and lovely decor. The location was great for walking around Trinity and hiking the Gun Hill Trail. It also provided easy access to the beautiful Skerwink Trail and other Bonavista sites.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The old house is delightful, comfortable and had everything we needed. Location is excellent. Trinity had some great shops, restaurants and historic buildings to visit, and nearby Elliston, Bonavista and the Skerwink Trail were all well worth the stop. Would stay here again!

This is a wonderful place to stay! Somewhat rustic (in fitting with the small village of Trinity). The house has everything you could imagine ever needing - from cooking equipment/supplies to laundry facilities - Everything! The beds are very comfortable, a great shower, and the book library is incredible. Plus, did I mention the deck that looks out over the town? Highly recommended!

We could tell it was an old house. I wondered what the history was. Thanks for the Young studio book. Renovations good to do. Thought the twin beds should be walled off to make another bedroom.
Great location.

Adorable salt box house with an authentic feel. We were all very comfortable with lots of space to relax and lovely views of the town. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the lighthouse with the fog rolling in. The house was well equipped and thoughtfully decorated in a local theme. Within short walking distance of great cafes and restaurants. We appreciated the advance information about checkin and local amenities. Highly recommend.

This cottage had beautiful views from all windows! It’s beautiful inside. It is rustic with all conveniences. The floors creek as you walk around and are reminded of the history here. Beds were very comfortable. it’s close to everything. Right behind is the Eriksen Premises where we had a lovely breakfast. Also has a great gift shop!! The driveway was a little tricky but host made us aware of how to handle it! It was nice to have the driveway beside the house! It seemed to us that Newfoundlanders drive a little too fast around corners. I’m sure they are used to it but we weren’t!!! The host left a complementary book for us! We would definitely stay at this VRBO again. Lovely.

We adored this house. We are 3 senior siblings that travel to Newfoundland every summer and this time we decided to stay in Trinity. The house is lovely inside with a fireplace and well equipped kitchen, large washroom and living on main floor. Upstairs 2 queen bedrooms and two singles in a common area with a 2 piece bath. Very comfortable beds and good shower. There is a deck overlooking Trinity Bay when you want to enjoy the view with coffee or a glass of wine. The house is well located. We could walk to most places including the Rise and Tide Theatre, Twine Loft Restaurant, and meeting point for the Historic Walking tour. We had a delightful 5 days in this home away from home and would love to come back!

This was our favorite B&B over 18 days in all of Newfoundland. Full of Newfoundland treasures and a view to die for it. Book it as soon as you can.

Very nice house, styling, decorating, and structure is very homey. A “salt box” house.
This house is in a great little community. Lots of things nearby to do. Nice little theater just a short walk from this house. Some nice restaurants also within walking distance.

Very picturesque, great Trails, with unbelievable views.

This house is a great experience into the past as long as you know what to expect. The house is old vintage, so do not expect many modern amenities. We very much enjoyed our 2 nights here which allowed easy access to Skerwink Trail and puffin viewing at tip of Bonavista peninsula. The views of Trinity are special.

We couldn't ask for a better place to stay in Trinity! What a gorgeous property. The home is incredibly cozy and the location is ideal with views of Trinity from every window. Communication and check-in were very clear and efficient!
We hope to return sometime in the warmer months for another visit. :) Thanks so much, Rebecca & Dot!

Out stay in this beautiful home was fantastic. We loved everything about the charm of this place, its location looking out over some of the town and water, and how really beautiful it is there in Trinity. The beds and bedrooms were really comfortable, there's space to spread out a bit and chat upstairs, and cozy seating in the living room. The kitchen had everything we needed, plus the laundry facilities were super handy. Could not have been better!

Having worked in Tourism for a very long time and having visited Trinity numerous times, this property was a disappointment! While we were intrigued by the reviews of 'traditional character'; 1. terribly uneven floor boards are unsafe, 2. alarmingly loud creaky doors are both annoying and disturbing and add nothing to the character, and 3. the musty 'old' smell was most unwelcoming every time we entered the house. The worst was the assault of earwigs, spiders and many other bugs, that seemed to continuously invade every space of the house. (On our final evening, we had to 'take care' of at least 20 earwigs, while trying to 'save' the other bugs by scooping them up to return them to where they belonged....OUTSIDE)!! POSITIVES: The view was good, the beds were clean , blankets for outside was a nice touch (but not uncommon for other properties in the area) and the shower seemed relatively new with great pressure and hot water, (we joked that the shower was the best feature of the house)!! HOWEVER, the owner should not lose sight of the fact that safety and comfort should never take a back seat to trying to sell 'traditional character'! Other properties in Trinity where we've stayed have had plenty of both. The 6 of us agreed that we enjoyed our stay in Trinity...... because we always enjoy our stays there but unfortunately, this house will not be one any of us will revisit.

We were very happy with the property. Loved the house itself, the age, style, decor and the beautiful art work. It was very cosy and inviting. We did have a bit of a problem figuring out how to turn shower on. Perhaps a note of instruction ( or maybe we were the only ones!)

If you want to rent a place where you feel like you have been transported back in time, but with all the modern conveniences, this is it!!!
