I loved this chambre d’hotes. My bedroom was enormous and furnished with old fashioned comfortable furniture. The bed very firm and comfortable and the hosts friendly and gracious. The shower is not modern but was good. Breakfast was at a shared table which is convivial with a huge range of home made cakes both sweet and sale. The entrance room is the hostesses library and there is a fridge for guests to keep food, a pleasant courtyard for sitting out. I was sad to leave but am now in another lovely place in this wonderful part of France.

They were very welcoming, even when we were too early for check-in, it was no problem at all. Our rooms were very spacious and they had closed the shutters to keep the sun out. Very thoughtful. The beds were really comfortable, not too hard, not too soft either. The shower was very good. And there was a tea cooker in the room with tea, coffee and mugs.
The breakfasts were home made, full with the most delicious foods. There was so much, that we could not taste everything. Our host was always happy and very friendly. There was oat milk and soy milk too.
We asked after 'Table d'hote', and although they hadn't planned that, they arranged it in the same day. Very delicious as well and also nice company of some other guests at the same long breakfast table.
Also, at leaving day we thought we wouldn't have breakfast, as that starts from 7:30 and we had to leave at 7:00. We asked for a small package with food, but they said, it was no problem at all to have breakfast at 6:30. That meant they had to get up an hour earlier as well. So very kind!
We were sad to leave and would definitely visit again.
Also, Tarascon-sur-Ariège is a beautiful small town, with plenty of restaurants (although on Mondays there is less choice). And it was still quiet in the nights.
We stayed for 6 days and wondered about clean towels. But we found them in the drawers in the bathroom. We did not mind, yet no one came in the room during these 6 days, so the bin was not emptied and mugs were not changed. I'm sure they would have provided this if we had asked though.

Nice large room with comfortable seating, a kettle and a desk. Host offered us the use of their garage for our motorcycles. Lovely homemade breakfast. Characterful house.
Lighting in bathroom was very dim because one of the lightbulbs was not working. The garbage can in the bathroom had not been emptied from the previous guest. I paid cash for the city tax and the host did not even attempt to give me change (not that I would have accepted such a small amount, but it was a bit presumptuous to not even ask/offer). The host sat and watched us eat breakfast - it was a bit uncomfortable.
