Dario and Gigi made you so comfortable and welcomed into their home. Dario was always up for a chat, advice and discussing the surf. There was a water filter available and the place was extremely clean. There was a lovely patio, small gym space and a terrace to socialise on. Whilst the kitchen was small, it was social and well equipped. Everyone at the hostel was kind and I had a great 2.5 weeks in Huanchaco getting to know the local community and surfers. Plenty of room to store surfboards and shower. I loved cuddling the cats and dogs. Thank you Gigi and Dario!
It’s not quite as fancy facilities as ATMA, but well makes up for it in atmosphere and friendliness.

My stay at Punta Huanchaco was hands down a highlight of my trip, mainly down to the kindness and generosity of Dario and Gigi. They look after their guests like they are family and really made me feel at home. Their place is also spotlessly clean, has a very restful relaxed vibe, and there are many adorable cats (and dogs). Do not hesitate to stay here!

Darrio and Gigi were the best! They treat every traveler like a new part of their family. They are so generous with their time and recommendations. You'll come for the accommodations but leave with a second set of parents. I can't say enough good things about these two. Dario is an avid surfer and will help anyone with their surfing needs while there. Both have great suggestions for things to do and see while in town. The property has a bunch of cute little cats running around and an amazing dog. The property is about two blocks from the beach, so very ideal location for surfers and anyone who wants to be close to the water. Do yourself a favour and stay for longer than you think you want.

We had the best time staying at Punta Huanchaco Hostel! Gigi and Dario were our highlight, so kind, friendly and made our stay unforgettable. They really went above and beyond. The hostel is very clean, comfy and has everything you could need. The cats and dog are also just the cutest. It really felt like a home away from home and didn’t want to leave. Would 100% recommend and would love to come back.
