Stunning property in a beautiful location on the beach - very tranquil but still in touching distance of the town (thanks in part to the evening shuttle). Grounds and facilities beautifully kept and we loved the spacious room decor, hammocks and pool / lounger area. The little table tennis and pool table were a fun plus. Breakfast was great too!
The management of the hotel lets it down slightly, and we had a few issues which we haven’t run into in other (cheaper) hotels in Bahia / Brazil:
- no water refills for the room, the only option to refill our bottles was to trek over to a service room with loads of mosquitoes (only place to iron too) or remember to use the small dispensers in the cafe (daytime only)
- the rooms in general were beautifully clean, but there were a lot of dead mosquitos smeared on the bathroom windows that no one wiped off throughout our stay, despite someone coming daily
- laundry extremely overpriced and came back late
- despite the hotel stating they would organise drop off at the end of the stay they told us that this was only at set hours which did not work for the time our boat was leaving, so we were left to arrange ourselves
- reception staff were generally aloof and slow to communicate on WhatsApp, though the bar and restaurant staff were great

The property is beautiful, and you genuinely feel immersed in nature. The beach is right in front of the hotel, making it easy to go for a walk or a swim before returning to relax by the pool.
Because the property is surrounded by nature, it’s important to use insect repellent and keep the windows closed, as mosquitoes can otherwise get into the room. Communication with the restaurant and breakfast staff can also occasionally be challenging, especially when ordering food with specific dietary requirements or allergies if you don’t speak Portuguese or Spanish.
