We really enjoyed our stay for one night here! The twin room beds were very comfortable, very clean, as was the en-suite. The location being close to Ullswater was great. We arrived early so popped down to the NT Aira Force waterfalls, which was a lovely place to walk after a long journey. We booked a table for dinner at the Queen’s head, a few steps from the b and, which was a gorgeous old pub from 1711, full of character. We were given a table by the log fire which added to the atmosphere. The food was great too! But the best part of our stay was the friendliness of Robin and his wife. It’s something I always hope for when booking a b and b! Thank you for the good tips. Oh and the breakfast was lovely too, especially having fresh fruit salad as well as a wide choice of cooked breakfast options.

The breakfast was excellent with freshly cooked local produce. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The bedrooms were very clean and comfortable.

It was the perfect location as we were attending a wedding at Askham Hall. Robin and Marion were absolutely lovely. Breakfast was delicious with a fantastic selection. Great price for the location £100 cheaper than staying in Penrith well worth it.

They accepted us arriving late, about 7-8pm I think. Breakfast good, coffee lousey, Parking on premises good. Queen bed comfortable and bathroom adequate. It's just too much to pay for a night. Found absolute luxury place a night later in touristy Grasmere for same price.
The cost of A$210 about 130 euros per night is too much. Unfriendly host, Marion, maybe because we were late. The place is called Meadow View, They said, yes from our upstairs window you can see the meadow. A meadow was out the back. Our window faced the front, we had to close the window due to traffic noise. I happened to follow Robin into his kitchen, he turned abruptly, You can't come in here. Then over breakfast when we said coffee was too weak, can you make stronger, Marion said, oh you are the first in 15 years to ask. Filter coffee, too much water, not enough coffee. It's time for a change, ask us if we want stronger coffee. Sorry folks, the English just can't make coffee.
I did give a bad report earlier and received an even badder reply from hosts. I accept that, I was harsh and have reviewed my feelings. But I still wouldn't recommend Meadow View for above reasons, considering price.
