Great base for a visit to Ometepe

Right on the lake. Tasty food options.

You definitely need to have a motorbike if staying here. It's worth it though!

Loved everything ! Room, view, food, vibe, the area . Would come back !

Having the water right In front of my room was a beautiful view to wake up to . Staff were friendly , music was nice, very nice and peaceful place to stay , breakfast was really good ! Room was comfortable and cold ac and fan !

An island escape with much to do :)

It was right on the water and had a welcoming staff with a good kitchen. The value was amazing

It's far from the more social town of Balgue, but with a scooter ($25 rental) you should be okay. The island is a jungle and bugs might enter the room

Good

The breafast was delicious and was inlcuded in the price of the room.

Overall the experience was amazing! However if you are someone that enjoys water pressure, or any water sometimes for your shower and don't mind being woken by neighboring roosters at 5am then this is a gorgeous spot to spend some time! Very rustic, friendly staff, and the views were outstanding! I would definitely recommend this place to the adventurous travelers.

It is located just in front of the lake, so you can go swim if you feel like having a lazy day ☺️ The dorm has a big bathroom attached to it You can walk to the San Ramon Waterfall from there (1 hour walk to the entrance of the waterfall) Restaurant with good music Delicious breakfasts They let you borrow a kayak for free to go watch the sunset

Every night, the dorm was crawling with big ants (Walls, beds, floors), I don't know why... There wasn't any food in the dorm, but the ants always came back at sunset time, and left with the sunrise. They don't bite or anything, though :) The dorm's shower could benefit from having a shower head, but it's not the end of the world :)

Amazing stay at the beach

Love the location at the beach, the kayaks they rent for $10 a day and the fish is just breathtaking amazing. EAT IT! The staff is super lovely and helpful. would definitely recommend! The triple room is perfect.

The dorm was ok though my matras seen it all, still comfortable though.

Quiet place, lots of kayaks, restaurant available during the whole day, friendly and helpful staff. Very good matress and mosquito net available.

Very good

The personal was very friendly and helpful. They made fresh breakfast every day and you can even choose. The room was simple but clean. It was very quite at night so we could sleep well x) The hotel is very near to the lake (own beach) and you can enjoy the sunsets.

The last part kf the road to the hotel is almost not drivable. there are big rocks and a lot of mud. we left our car nearby the mainstreet. But they offered us pick us up and to park our car on the ground of a relative of obe of the employee.

The staff was really friendly and although the location was quite difficult to reach the view on la Cocepción and the free kayaks were worth it

Superb

The staff is super nice, you have everything you need at the Hostel. Nice view, directly at the beach. You can pay all in the end. All in all definitey nothing much you can do wrong booking here

As its quite far from everything else, you can only get stuff at the Hostel. The menu is small and quite pricey. The location can be nice for people how like it away from the main area. A motorbike is highly recommended, nothing is in walking distance

Amaizng Place

All the staff were so friendly and helpful. location is perfect and even better if you have a scooter - close to all the mian attractions. Right on the beach and could see the sunset every night. All the food was amazing and we had breakfast included, we could choose from the normal menu for no extra cost - which was so good.

Best place to stay on Ometepe!

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Helped us with a shuttle, renting scooters, horseriding and the kayak tour. It is located in a more remote area. The location is absolutely beautiful, quiet and amazing sunsets right at the beach.

The breakfast options were amazing! It even included a smoothie or coffee. It was so beautiful to by by the water. It was peaceful and comfortable. Free Mangos are everywhere!

WiFi didn't reach the bedroom strongly, but was not a problem.

The location is super nice! Every evening you can watch the sunset over the lake. Also the food in the restaurant is amazing and for the free breakfast you can just choose from the menu and have a juice or another drink with it. The staff is super helpful with arranging taxis, scooter rentals, kayak tours etc. Would defenitely recommend this hostel!

A beautiful setting perfect for a quiet island stay.

Beautiful setting on the lake and very quiet. The breakfast was large with a few different choices. Highly recommended the fish they serve at the restaurant on an evening - delicious! The hotel room was in a little cabin and was adequately sized. The bed was comfortable with a large mosquito net around it. The Aircon worked perfectly.

Only cold water available for the shower and the decor a little dated, particularly in the bathroom. The service for food and drinks was very slow so allow plenty of time for breakfast.

Peace and quiet by the lake

Beautiful setting. Peaceful. Tasty food. Great staff. Loved having the waves of the lake so close by. Handily located for the volcano and waterfall.

Really chilled place that offers really good value for money!

Amazing breakfast that was included, very nice and helpful staff. We felt at home and comfortable right away in the cabin and restaurant area. And it was great to be part of local village life a bit :)

Amazing location right on the beach, kayaks for hire, and the staff will sort out moped rentals if required. Beds where super comfy, bedroom really clean and incredible breakfast Included. The food in general was delicious, big portion sizes and cheap!

The place is ok, but there are better options on the island.

The place is quiet and the kitchen and reception staff is very friendly and helpful. The kayak renting option is a plus. The food and drinks we ordered were good.

The hostel has seen better days. Our room did not even have any table or place to put your luggage until we asked for it. Sitting in the restaurant feels like in between a kayak and boat rental place and a car workshop. Wifi connection does not reach the rooms. You can feel that not much attention is given to the place and the comfort of guests (anymore). Given the fact that for the same price are several other beautiful hotels on the island, our choice will definitely be another one next time (and we come frequently to Oemtepe.).

Nice place by the lake - nice food!!

I stayed at the dorm : normal single beds, not bunk beds. 3 bed dorm. Calm. By the sea. Nice and cheap food and drinks. owner is nice. sunset in front of the hostel

Dorm could be painted. Bathroom is ok and big but feels very old. Hard to get to if you don’t have a motorbike.

Superb

The staff were especially fabulous. All of them! The kayak trip to the river is an absolute must. We were even able to do it with our one yr old. It was the highlight of our stay on Ometepe. And the restaurant can't be beat 🙂
