Our camping site turned out to not meet our expectations and we needed to make a quick decision about a hotel in Riobamba that was clean, safe, available, with parking and would receive us late at night. The staff at Hotel Montecarlo received us with the same energy and enthusiasm late at night that I would expect in the morning or during the afternoon. We were given a tour of the hotel and available rooms to help us make our decision easy. Appreciated the morning breakfast at the cafe-restaurant nearby. The decor in the hotel is amazing. I felt like I was staying in a different time period or inside a museum. Good value for price.
Although drinking water (hot or cold) and instant coffee were available in the lobby, we would have loved a cup of brewed Ecuadorian coffee either at night upon arriving or in the morning with breakfast. Breakfast was simple, but very good. Fruit and juice were delicious. Just would have loved better coffee.

The restaurant next door tried to make my breakfast really special, when I had french toast after a long time.
I could smell the exhaust of the cars passing by in the morning, even though my room was inside the house.
