The two best things about Hotel Tirreno are the owners and its location. They're welcoming, friendly and helpful, with suggestions for visits to nearby places, all proving to be great recommendations.
The hotel isn't on a road, so we enjoyed sitting on the room's seafront balcony enjoying an excellent view along the beach and listening to the sound of the waves. The windows and doors were well insulated against noise so we didn't notice any external sound at night. The all sand beach is a few steps from the hotel, but like most Italian resorts guests have to pay to use the sun loungers. There was a convenient free and open stretch of sand giving access to the sea right outside the hotel (in late May) but we understand that gets rather taken over by boats during high season.
A good breakfast with a range of pastries, fruit, cheeses, cereals and drinks was laid out in the spacious dining room.
The hotel is not quite as characterful as some of the others along the seafront and the room seemed rather plain and the bathroom small when we first arrived late at night, but all looked better in the morning sun!
