Old fashioned French charm in the centre of the town

Lovely little hotel, full of old-time French charm. Situated in the centre of the town it was ideal for sightseeing.

There was no restaurant (or at least it was closed on the day we stayed). There was also no bar at the hotel to get refreshments. Also there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

The staff Karin and Hassan were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. We enjoyed the history of the building and the old town. Absolutely enjoyed our stay

An unfortunate throwback in time, How the French authorities give it 3 stars is a misty.

This hotel was a regular stop on the way to and back from skiing trips in the 1980's and early 90's. It had a fine restaurant and comfortable rooms. Unfortunately there seems to have been no investment in the hotel since we last visited it 20 years ago. The place was very dated nearly dilapidated in some ways, our bedroom door would not close, beds very tired restaurant food acceptable from a very short menu, but a good wine list. We did not stay for breakfast.

IF YOU WANNA LIVE FARYTALE MOMENTS, THIS IS THE RIGHT PLACE. I FELT LIKE I WAS BACK IN TIME AND FELT LIKE A ROYAL!

I have arrived in Laon somewhere at 22:00 I guess, I wasn’t even sure if I’ll get the chance to eat in the restaurant but the host was extremely kind and welcoming, made me have my dinner that was exceptional, made me feel very welcoming and even though I booked the room late and I have not booked the parking spot, he was kind enough to let me have a parking spot by arranging with another guest to move his car a bit so I can fit in. THE ROOM IS VERY COSY AND CLEAN!!! THE BATHROOM HAD A BATHTUB AND ALL THE AMENITIES I NEEDED!!! THE AREA IS VERY CENTRAL AND FROM THERE 5 MINUTES WALKING TO THE NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL!!! BREAKFAST WAS GREAT, VEVRY NOCE ARRANGE AND FELT LIKE I WAS LIVING A DAY BAXK IN THE DAYS, GOING IN THE BREAKFAST ROOM TO EMJOY MY MORNING COFFE! DUE TO THE BEAUTIFUL CITY I HAD ARRIVED LATE FOR THE CHECK OUT LIKE ONE HOUR AND HALF LATE AND THEY WERE TOTALLY UNDERSTANDABLE AND I HAVE NOT PAID ANY FEE FOR THAT AMD EVEN MORE, THE HOST LET ME HAD THE PARKING SPOT EVEN IF I CHECKED OUT CUZ I EXPANDED I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT A BIT MORE THE CITY AND HAVE LUCH. I WOULD LIKE TO PUBLICLY THANK TO THIS AMAZING PERSON THAT HAD SUCH AN AMAZING BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS ME AND ILL DEFINITELY LOOK FORWARD TO GO BACK ONE DAY. 🙏🏻 Wish you all the best of luck ! 🙏🏻

kept well informed of issues and when food arrived it was excellent. very disappointing overall

lovely old fashioned hotel in the heart of Laon old quarter

problem with the plumbing meant our room was cold and the dining room was cold with water leaking from the ceiling. staff shortages and the plumbing issue meant dinner was very late with a 40 minute wait to place our order. we were charged 10 euros for use of the hotel garage which we explained on arrival we could not use as our car would not fit through the entrance

Friendly, relaxing and excellent service.

The owner M. Hassan was most helpful, interesting and friendly. We arrived late but he was more than happy to keep the restaurant open and give us the full dining experience. We will definitely be back.

The shower was not powerful but not an issue as the charm of ther building made up for it

The staffs made this hotel lively and it overcome other things

Staffs are all lovely and helpful. The location is very good.

Room condition is worn out especially the doorknob, yes the doorknob looked like it's gonna fall on you but it worked fine.

Very convenient to see the old Laon with a faded elegance you will either love or not.

We like the food, location, comfortable beds and very friendly staff. Parking was useful but very difficult access - not for wide vehicles or timid drivers.

Shower not good, over fussy decoration and some elements such as the stair carpet well past their best.

Lovely stay

Large room in an old fashion hotel, clean bathroom with shower over the bath. Attentive staff offered to cook scrambled eggs for breakfast which was otherwise "continental". Superbe location at the top of Laon near the cathedral. Parking on-site if pre booked.

No hot drink facilities in the room, but coffee on reception if required.

The shower head kept falling off the wall We stayed on a Tuesday night, there is no mention on the hotel details that the restaurant is shut on Tuesdays and we had booked the deal that included dinner 😡

Gallic charm at its best, in a medieval hilltop town…..who could ask for more?

it’s original French charm at its best. and the host couldn’t have been more helpful. Tips on where to eat, arranged special dietary requirements at short notice.

it was hot, and bit noisy. but it was a hot day/night, and a festival in town.

Lovely, traditional family run Hotel in Medieval Laon

This is a lovely, traditional, family run French Hotel in the centre of the Medieval part of Laon. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very good restaurant. Good breakfast. We first stayed here 30 years ago and will continue to do so.

An historic hotel with a very warm welcome.

Very helpful and friendly staff, who really care about their guests having the best stay at the hotel. Parking on site and excellent breakfasts.

A little bit of traffic outside the window, but not an issue for us.

Breakfast was good. Dinner was good. Michel told us some fascinating history of the building and the town.

Bathroom lighting was abysmal. Parking was tight. The whole building appeared shabby.

Excellent breakfast offered by the host. The staff were very friendly & helpful and the location is superb for visiting Laon, which may be reflected in the price. The hotel is full of period charm.

Just what we were hoping for!

A charming, classic, old, independent French Hotel. Great atmosphere in the restaurant with good traditional French food. A big flask of coffee between us at breakfast, with everything else you’d hope for, and the young man doubling as front of house and waiter was polite, courteous and helpful.

Nothing! But it would only be fair to say that some things could do with updating - with care and sensitivity.

There was an error with my booking date and i was charged for the booking but told that we could stay on the proper booking night a week later as we had paid, but after saying we could amend the booking and after the payment had clearedthe hotel sent an email saying they were full the following week. THis was very disappointing.
