We stayed for two nights before starting our Shimanami Kaido ride. It’s around a 12-minute walk from JR Onomichi Station and you pass through the shopping arcade on the way.
The hotel is part of Sagawa’s Cycling Without Baggage service, which was very convenient. We arranged it at the front desk and had our luggage sent ahead to our hotel in Imabari. The whole process was easy. If you prefer to use Yamato, there’s one in the nearby shopping arcade.
There’s also a bike rack in the lobby if you’re bringing your own bike.
Breakfast was good too. It was a traditional Japanese set breakfast with several small dishes.
None.

The room, while compact, was clean and bright. Staff were helpful. Plus location was a short walk to the ropeway. We rode the ropeway and did part of the temple walk.
Hotel had a nice guest lounge on the 9th floor, where we enjoyed the quiet and the view over the water.
Nothing comes to mind

Exceptionally pleasant location and nice new hotel feel. Staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating
Getting help to find lost item was very average. How hard is it to interrupt and check if an item left behind could still be in a room?

the room is clean
the room is unbearably tight, no place to open the luggage, double bed is pushed against the wall so one person has to climb over the other to get to the rest room which is also very very tiny
