Summary:
The Lion's apt 4 has 2 bedrooms 1 large double and 1 spacious double futon-bedroom in the attic; 1 and a half bathrooms, a living room with 32" flat TV and sofa bed, and a full large well equipped design kitchen with dining area.
The Space:
The Lion's house is a newly restored 4 flats property in Salizada San Lio, Castello. The apartments all have been furnished with design and modern taste, yet retaining a very Venetian flare (wooden beams and the red floor). The owners have finished a complete restoration in September 2010. Ideal holiday property for 2 couples, or for a family group (please note that due to open stairs to the loft, it is not suitable for very young children).
Guest Access:
This apartment is a perfect scene for a great family holiday (sleeping 4+1 guests), or romantic retreat in the historic center of Venice. Restaurants, shops, cafes all just outside your door- great wide choice and suppliers, for all tastes. Try the Venetian "osteria" with local ciceti-tapas for a glass of Veneto wine, or the elegant patisseries for cappuccino and typical cakes.
Maid service is available on request. For larger families or groups you can rent several apartments in the same house, please enquire for any special offer.
The Neighborhood:
Trendy design top floor apartment (lift arriving inside apartment) at the beginning of the Castello quarter, Salizada San Lio,2 minutes walk from Rialto and 10 minutes from San Mark Square. Gorgeous "altana" (roof terrace) with fab views over the city, from St. Mark's Campanile towerbell to SS. Giovanni e Paolo Church and Scuola. Facing the Salizada and with private street entrance, this apartment is the largest and most prestigious one of a complex of 4 flats completely restored in 2010.
Getting Around:
Vaporetto line 1 and 2 and Alilaguna stop is Rialto, where we will meet you- few minutes walk to apartment.

Great location and great spacious apartment. It was so easy to check in and got a full run down on how everything worked. We were able to walk everywhere from the location and were super close to the square. Only downside were the mosquitos we must have killed minimum 20 of them every time we came back no idea how they were getting in. Great AC and an elevator that goes straight to the apartment

This apartment is very centrally located to most iconic things in Venice, like the Rialto bridge and not far from the square. It is also near our favorite restaurant and gelato place which was a plus.
Its a perfect space for one or two couples, or a small family. It was so nice to have an elevator, the extra half bath, and the rooftop terrace. Check in was personal and very friendly. The kitchen has all the basic things you would need if cooking, etc. Comfortable living space and tv, wifi worked well, and air con was a great plus.
Things to be aware of is they do not provide the basics that most places provide like coffee pods for their coffee machine, soap for dishes, or any laundry detergent. Would have been also nice to have throw blanket available in the living area for comfort on the leather sofa. Maybe they will consider adding those things in the future. Not deal breakers, just nice added touches for guests.
The only reason it gets a 4 star this time from us is because we had a few hiccups during our stay. A broken bed frame, holes in our sheets, and it being not the cleanest and tidiest upon arrival. The staff was apologetic and very kind and did their best to make things right by sending maintenance and cleaning staff right away, which we very much appreciated. In the end they went above and beyond to make sure we were happy, and we would be glad to come back and rent from them again.
