Apartamento perfecto para pasar unos días con vistas preciosas al lago y las montañas

Beautiful views, great location, but does need some planning ahead to get around. Beware of hill!

The view was incredible from both the balcony and the pool. The apartment was equipped with everything we could need and has plenty of room for the 4 of us. The hosts were amazing. Replied very quickly and offered great service. The local restaurant in the village was lovely with great staff and good food/drink - this was a life saver as the only option for drinks later in the evening (from 9pm), although not open every day. The pool was lovely and we mostly had it to ourselves which was an added bonus. Although Dorio is slightly outside, it is easy to get around to the main towns via train and ferry. There are trains every hour which run up and down the lake. The village or Dorio itself is also very nice and I would recommend walking below the train line along the lake (took us a few days to find)

Most my negatives are out of the host control. The hill up to the property was very tough. We are young, fit people and we really struggled to get our luggage up there. The hill also refrained us from wanting to walk up it more than once a day so it determined a lot of our planning as we didn't want to come back and go back out again. If you struggle with fitness, walking etc I would recommend a car which is a shame because it's not needed for the rest of the trip. If the property offered a shuttle for the luggage up the hill when we arrived that would have been a massive benefit for us. It is difficult to get supplies too as you have to carry them up the hill. You also need to get a train to supermarkets so can't pop out easily. Public transport stops quite early so you will have to be back to Dorio by 9pm. Taxi's are extortionate in price (56-80EUR for a 10 minute journey). We got a quote from two taxi companies the hosts gave us the number for and there was a huge 30EUR difference which was odd. One night we got stuck without food as we planned on getting pizza at the local restaurant but it was closed so we had no option other than to order a pizza as there was no transport running. Great idea to offer a Pizza takeaway but unfortunately the food was horrendous. Considering we were in Italy and I am really not picky about Pizza, it was the worst I have ever had and was very expensive. The crust was like cardboard. Pool had cleaning equipment in it sometimes in the morning when we wanted to swim and weren't sure if we'd be allowed in

A pool on the terrace, kitchen with all the appliances you need, amazing view, the host send us video instuctions before our arrival that included the parking instuctions, and best ways how to navigate around lake Como

Great apartment and pool. Let down by the bed and lack of air conditioning

Lovely view and location was good

No air conditioning and the bed was terrible. It’s a personal thing I know but the memory foam mattress was bad. Tricky parking

Our stay was exceptional. Everything was fantastic and the staff were so lovely and very helpful.

The room was lovely, with a beautiful view and our door opened right into the pool! Everything was very clean and comfortable.

Good

The apartment is meant for more than 4 people and it has a big kitchen, but there were hardly any utensils in the kitchen. I would request to add more good quality utensils.

Amazing place to relax your mind!

Amazing view from the kitchen window with balcony to stand outside and enjoy, we also got a chance to relax in jacuzzi. property has secure parking to leave the car. Host was great, communicated on time and resolved our issue very quickly.

Blissful time with good friends in a quaint little town in a comforting property

we came for spring break and decided to stay at residence dorio because of the great prices and good views from the pictures. upon arrival at the train station we had a hike up a very steep hill in the rain to reach the airbnb. we got a little turned around due to the weather and the host came outside to find us in the middle of the storm to make sure we got there safe. after showing us to our room she gifted us a free hour in the hot tub to help us relax from being in the rain. she then ordered pizza for us and offered to personally drive us to the grocery store to save us from a long uphill walk. We were then gifted a free local bottle of wine which was absolutely amazing. overall none of us have ever been treated with such amazing hospitality during a stay and we would all absolutely recommended this place to everyone! please give them a visit!!

There was nothing we downright disliked! However, we were just not aware about the hike to get to the property and the fact that Dorio the town doesn’t offer a lot. Make use of the trains and ferry’s!

Good value, but not perfect rooms. Amazing view though!

Amazing view from our room and superb value for this low price. Great contact and helpful staff.

- the room was really basic in terms of furniture and interiors (bit ugly) - not the easiest access with the car (it would be really hard for bigger cars) - beds too soft and old mattresses - no kettle - there are just a few nearby restaurants, hard to access on foot

Amazing views, Welcoming staff, Peaceful and relaxing

Amazing views, location and hospitality. Staff were so helpful and give great ideas of places to visit around Lake como, and how to get to Switzerland for a day trip. They also give me free time in the hot tub and the staff were so helpful. Even without a car it was easy to get around as the train station is near by. As a solo traveller, I felt very safe and welcomed at Dorio.

Nothing about the property. There is a big hill upto it though, but only a 10 minute walk. If you have a car this isn’t a problem.

We met with the owner on arrival and he helped with guiding into a car parking space as roads are very narrow and even reserved our spot as we had a larger car. He showed and explained everything in well spoken English so it was easy to understand. Even made a few recommendations which we appreciated, helped us with calling a take away pizza which was lovely and arrived on time fresh and hot! 10/10 overall. Would stay again. Nothing seemed too complicated or too much for him! Very friendly

Great apartment with a view

The view to the lake was unobstructed. Large apartment with a comfortable bed.

Missing utensils Kettle, mugs and microwave is faulty Shower was awful. Very hot or very cold (no inbetween) easy fixes.
