Elegant Hotel, Kandy

Our family had an absolutely fantastic stay at Elegant Hotel Kandy. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, everything was perfectly arranged, and we truly felt welcomed and cared for. We were especially grateful for the additional room provided for our two oldest children. This made our stay even more comfortable and showed the willingness of the hotel team to think along with their guests and find solutions wherever possible. The service throughout our stay was simply outstanding. Every member of the staff was friendly, attentive, professional, and genuinely interested in making our stay special. You can clearly see that the people working here take pride in what they do. A special compliment goes to the owner, who should be incredibly proud of what has been created here. Not only is the hotel beautiful, but the entire team reflects warmth, kindness, and true Sri Lankan hospitality. It was wonderful to see that the hotel is run by local people who clearly have their hearts in the right place. The owner himself is a fantastic gentleman, very welcoming and truly service-oriented. The swimming pool was beautiful and well maintained, and our children spent many happy hours enjoying it. The rooms were spacious, spotless, comfortable, and elegantly furnished, providing a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Kandy and the surrounding area. The food deserves special recognition as well. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, with a wide variety of dishes and something for everyone. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The restaurant staff and waiters were outstanding, always attentive, friendly, and eager to help. My wife also enjoyed several massages, and she was extremely impressed. The masseuse was highly skilled, professional, and provided one of the best massage experiences she has had. All in all, this was one of the highlights of our trip to Sri Lanka.

Wish they had more food choices 😋

This is a beautiful place with stunning views, surrounded by wonderful nature. Everything has been thoughtfully designed to create comfort and appeal to all the senses. The beds were comfortable, although a little squeaky, everything was clean, and we were very happy with our choice. The staff were exceptionally kind, welcoming, supportive and service-oriented. I cannot remember all their names, but I do remember Ama. You can rely on her to find and organise almost anything you need. Even if you arrive without a plan, she will have plenty of suggestions to help you make the most of your time. The gentlemen serving us were also always ready to help and were consistently warm and kind. We genuinely enjoyed our stay. I would happily return if visiting Kandy again and would definitely recommend this hotel.

Although the staff were always helpful and willing to organise activities and transport, I would advise future guests to compare prices independently before accepting the proposed option as the best or most cost-effective deal. At times, the prices offered felt higher than necessary, which left a slightly uncomfortable impression. I would encourage the hotel to be more transparent and competitive when recommending or arranging these services. (2) I would also recommend reducing the amount of chemicals used in the pool, if possible. I appreciate that keeping a pool clean in this environment is challenging, and I saw how carefully and thoroughly it was maintained. However, the water felt quite harsh on the skin.
