Meh. Restaurant food was meh. The hotel itself was meh. Customer service was terrible.
The grounds are well maintained
Our room smelled like urine when we arrived. We asked to be transferred to another room and the front desk woman accused us of causing the urine smell. She was also rude to other customers while we were checking in.

Way too much money. We were expecting a resort experience and got a dirt road motel.
The restaurant, pool, secure parking
No pure water in room. No fridge or microwave or even access to one. No ice machine, or restroom by pool. Grumpy front desk. Bad neighborhood. No air conditioner controller, just an on/off breaker switch.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay though I would have liked a way to store and reheat leftover food.
I enjoyed the pool very much as well as the room itself. The bathroom was spacious and clean as was the rest of the room. The AC was very much appreciated. I also liked the balcony and location of the hotel as we were within walking distance of the town center and the beach.
Would have liked access to a mini fridge at least or a microwave.

I'll be better next time
The place is beautiful very nice open space.
Trying to find the place I was calling so many times they never answered the phone. I didn't have Wi-Fi for the map at the time, I was having trouble with my phone connection. And the next we went out for some hours, we came back to find out that our window was open like if somebody tried to break in.

if you like gardens, this is an option
gardens, private parking, swimming pool
old facilities, bathroom, poor water pressure, clogged sink, restaurant is overated… expensive

It's fine, but do not mistake it for five-star
The wifi was consistently strong, the room was big and everything was clean. Quick and nicely done laundry service. Josefina at the desk was helpful, if a bit reserved (I am too, so I get it!).
I'm going to be honest without malice here. Like I said, it's fine, but the place is just not 5 star by any stretch of the imagination. It's dated and faded, though they are currently painting some building exteriors. The bathrooms are in major need of updating; they're clean but so old that they look grimy. It's frustrating that hot water just will not come in the early morning (we're birders, so we're probably up before most people). The beds are hard and dressed in threadbare sheets and icky polyester covers that are what I remember from the 80s—kind of a cringe-inducing experience getting in to bed. New sheets, bed covers, window dressings and light fixtures would go SO far in updating the feel of the place. Location is weird and mildly inconvenient. Kind of far from the beach, kind of far from the heart of town. You're likely going to end up walking in the dark a lot, especially if you want to watch the sunset on the beach or eat somewhere other than the restaurant; luckily, San Blas is a low-key town, so it doesn't feel dangerous. (Although why there are no tuktuks in this town I will never understand!) Speaking of the restaurant ... I just do not get it. The food is passable, but good? Not really. The chicken in chipotle-orange-cardamom sauce sounded so promising (fragrant-citrussy-smoky? exciting!) but was one of the weirdest things I've ever tasted and was served as a grilled chicken breast atop a pool of slightly congealed, gravy-like sauce. I was honestly fascinated by how it made the cut to serve to guests. The waitstaff are trying and are very nice but could use some better training—they hovered and danced so much that it was extremely distracting. Overall, it's a good enough place to stay but temper your expectations.

Lovely building, good restaurant, a little overpriced.
Beautiful complex, gorgeous grounds and landscaping. Rooms with multiple beds are a nice touch that can be hard to find. Secure parking. Really nice and helpful staff.
Beds were really hard. Breakfast not included. it felt a little overprice for what it was.
