Fantastic location, right in the centre of the old town and next door to an ice cream shop, much to my children's happiness! Lots of reviews mention the kitchen smell but that is just a strong cheese smell - not a problem for me and it doesn't get into the apartment at all. Really clean and the sofa bed which our two children used was really comfy and easily fit them, it would easily sleep 2 adults. Everything you could need in the kitchen, unfortunately the washing machine was broken. Coffee available and there was oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. A decent oven and dishwasher. All the cleaning supplies and kitchen equipment you would need. TV and air conditioner. It was really comfortable and we would not hesitate to come back again
You get lots of info in advance but I have a feeling this is a little out of date, there were no cakes (much to the childrens sadness!) and the list of restaurants etc was a bit out of date. Really not an issue at all though. They do require you to leave a large deposit (500 euros) which was held on my credit card. This provoked some anxiety when we had issues with the toilet at the end of the break, as we messaged but didn't get any response. We did get our deposit back without any issues but it would have been good to have a response (just so I stopped worrying about the deposit!). Again nothing major and would book again happily.

The location was great!
Local fresh food and antiques markets set up right outside your front door several days a week.
Management provided a wonderful FAQ of the area prior to my arrival and answered my questions about the area quickly and in a helpful manner.
The apartment is above two restaurants. I stayed on the first floor (if ground level is zero). Upon entry (also shared with restaurant staff) at street level, you enter a dark hallway that leads to an even darker stairway. When you leave your apartment there is a small step down just outside of the door that you have to go down to turn on the light for the hallway/stairs to lock your door and go down.
The kitchens of both restaurants open onto the hallway so there is an overwhelming smell of cooked food and hot dishwasher type smell. It isn’t pleasant. The smell permeates the stairway and sometimes the entryway of the apartment. I’m assuming that’s why there is an overabundance of air freshener sticks in a vase in the kitchen, which was so heavy my clothes and toiletries bag smelled of sickening sweet vanilla for the remainder of my trip.
Embedded in fine print, not listed up front with the pricing on booking.com, is the requirement for a $500 deposit, in case of damage or the apartment left dirty. That ended up tying up much of the spending money I had planned for the trip as I missed reading that part. I tried to get confirmation from management, multiple times, through direct contact and through booking.com representatives, both emailing and calling the property, that the apartment was left is satisfactory condition and that the deposit hold would be released. None of those attempts were answered by the management of the property.
