Worth every penny! This property was such a gem in our Takayama stay.. if you want to experience a Ryokan without some of these Ryokan premium price tags; this hotel is it! The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was delicious ( they even offered my husband bread instead of rice to satisfy his American palette) and the rooms, although slightly dated, really embody the ryokan spirit . We also booked the private onsen and that was divine! We loved the views from the room as well- overlooking the city of takayama ! 86 was so peaceful
Nothing- everything was outstanding. Just be warned it does sit on a bit of a hill, so the hike up from town can be a little daunting if you’re not conditioned for it.

The view was wonderful. Onsen with outdoor area was great. Traditional meals were a very good experience
