About this chalet rental
Situated in Châtel, this attractive chalet for $82 per night is a great option for your next vacation. This stunning two bedroom condo/chalet is situated just 500 meters away from the centre of the popular ski / summer mountain resort of Chatel with the ski bus stopping directly outside our door! The Chalet is well equipped, comprising of a fabulous open plan living room with fireplace, dining room & a fully equipped kitchen. The ground floor also has a toilet, cloak closet and a washing machine. Upstairs there is a bathroom with bath and shower, a separate toilet and two double bedrooms. Each bedroom has a king-size bed which can be split into two singles, a built-in wardrobe and it's own balcony with stunning views looking straight up the valley towards Linga. The chalet has a well kept garden with a private patio and veranda; we provide garden furniture and a dining set for use in summer months. In winter we provide wood for the fire and there is a dedicated ski / bike room located at the buildings entrance. The chalet has private, off street parking. Our changeover day is on the Saturday during peak seasons. During the low seasons we can offer flexible changeover days. Our agent who holds our keys is located close by and will meet and greet you upon your arrival to show you around. They are there to help you during your stay as well as organise your linen hire if needed. When you stay with us, we hope that you will keep it tidy. The cleaner will be in after you depart to prepare the apartment for the next guest. There is so much to see and do in the area of the Portes de Soleils both in the summer and in the winter. We hope that you will come stay and benefit from the breathtaking views whilst enjoying your apres ski or to soak up some sunshine after your daily summer adventure.

It was a nice chalet with everything you will need. Châtel is a really nice location and if you prefer it quiet, you should go in autumn. There are a lot of nice hikes around this area.

When you arrive in the chalet you immediately feel at home. There is everything you need to spend a relaxing family holiday. The kitchen is well equipped and there are plenty of guides and maps to get you going to climb those beautiful mountains. Thank you to Beth and her family for letting us stay in this very welcoming chalet. The views from the balcony are stunning. I hope to return regularly. All the best from Claire

We are not for the first time in this beautiful chalet and every time we enjoyed staying there. The chalet is very comfortable and located very well in a very quiet street. The chalet is equipped with everything you may need for your holiday. We will definitely returned back.

Fantastic stay

Very comfortable duplex apartment with sunny panoramic views of the Abondance valley. Cosy log burner. Easy walk into town for restaurants and bars but in a quiet location. New smart TV this season so you don't have to miss your favourite shows. Thoroughly recommended

We had a nice week with our family, with 2 kids in the Appartment. The kids enjoyed to play in the garden. Several times we enjoyed to have BBQ and eat outside. To Chatel center it is just a 5 minutes walk.
Beth and Andy took care about us if anything was needed. The overall organization was pretty good.

A Splendid Holiday
The chalet is quite delightful and my family enjoyed a very happy stay. The terrace, with immediate access from the dining area gives wonderful views over the valley.and a great place to have lunch! Everything was clean and tidy. It had everything we needed for our family for a great week of skiing at the end of a really good season. Many thanks to Kester and Beth who are quick to respond and extremely helpful. We will be back!

Super Chalet with amazing views
Excellent location just a short walk (10 mins easy) from Chatel village and the restaurants. Set onto the side of valley it gives amazing views. Dedicated car parking outside chalet. Modern facilties yet traditional charm and feel. Extremely well equipped kitchen which we used all but 3 nights. Nice size bedrooms with views and plenty of living space with all you need for a very happy break in Chatel. Very comfortable, warm and cosy. Cleaners team very good and chalet was spotless on arrival. Would certainly visit again and recommend.

Room with a view
It was our first visit to the Haute Savoie and we chose a first class chalet to spend our time there. Chalet Snowball is ideally located for every need whether it's a ski ing holiday or summer holiday.The accommodation offers everything you would require and is cosy and comfortable. Dealing with the owners in Texas is seamless, professional and they were very helpful during the whole process. I would strongly recommend this chalet for those discerning skiers or holiday makers to enjoy unique surroundings in Chatel.

My only disappointment was that the ad suggested it is a chalet but it is in a block with a shared entrance. A little more info about the facilities would be good. The BBQ needed cleaning and a sunshade would be great.

Kester and Beth were very welcoming. The flat is situated in a great location. It provided us with a great base in the heart of the alps.

Superbe appartement en duplex dans chalet
Nous avons loué cet appartement duplex dans un chalet au cours des vacances de février 2017. Nous y avons passé un excellent séjour. Les pistes se situent à quelques centaines de mètres seulement et la navette gratuite s'arrête devant le chalet. L'appartement est vraiment très bien: spacieux , remarquablement bien équipé, impeccable , cheminée avec bois à volonté, literie de premier ordre, petit jardin devant la terrasse... Bref, c'était parfait. Nous le recommandons fortement.

Wonderful location, wonderful holiday
We stayed in Snowball with a family of 4 adults and a 7 months baby and found it very comfortable. The location is perfect and very quiet. It is also close to the main square and attractions of Chatel.
The owners were very helpful with getting us well prepared for our holidays and advise well in advance what we need to do to have a quiet and trouble free vacation with a baby.
Isabelle from the local agency was very efficient to help us and answered all questions we had as this was our first trip to Chatel but we will return there next year by all means as we still have not managed to ski on all slopes; the skiing area is huge.
The house has everything what you may need while you stay there. The kitchen is also very well equipped and has all necessary for your comfort stay. I would add only a very simple electric raclette pans to make this Alpine dish which is a long standing tradition of our family when we come to the Alps.
A fireplace adds a great charm and atmosphere in the house.
Thanks again for the wonderful and healthy vacation.

What a fine place to stay!
A very nice house with a beautifull view from all the balconys and windows. Every thing you need is there. It's clean and the beds are good. There is also a small garden where our dog layed on the grass. Privacy is fine. Just 10 min. walk to the cosy village with lots of restaurants. We enjoined our stay very much. There are many things to do: Montreux, Yvoir, Sixt fer cheval, Belvedere, bassachaux, site de Bise, Chamonix, super Chatel , Geneve, Gorges du pont etc...
When we want to visit the mountains again we certainly come back to house Snowball in Chatel.

Fabulous
We loved the chalet – the location is so convenient, and the views superb. The parking and access were all very easy. There was no one else in the building all week, so it was very quiet, but the way it is arranged makes it quite private anyway.
The chalet is very well equipped with good quality utensils etc. We always bring our own kitchen knives, but we didn’t need them this year. The décor and furnishings were all very tasteful. The lounge was better than it appears in the photos due to the new corner sofa.
A great place to stay - the photos don't do it justice. We would love to return for a summer or winter holiday.

Summer time delight
We stayed at Snowball this summer and had a lovely time. Our thanks to Beth for being so helpful and who made the whole process so easy. The chalet is a real home from home, with everything you need inside, and with fantastic views outside. Conveniently located in the village with the centre only a 5 min stroll away. If you go in the summer do get the Multi Pass its only €2.00 per day per person and allows free travel on all the chair lifts in the area and discounts off many activities, a real bargain. Would definitely recommended Snowball for your stay in Chatel and we hope to return soon to explore more of the area.

A nice week in Chatel
Very nice chalet...close to the center of the village.
10 mn walking and you find restaurants, your bread, your newspaper...
It's just like at home !! (2 great bedroom, a nice kitchen, and great living room with TV and wifi for IT devices...)
Chatel is a lovely village where you can find a lot of attractions..
So, we think we will come back !

What a delight!
This lovely chalet apartment is spacious enough for four yet was still cosy for the two of us. Quiet and private, the apartment is cleanly decorated and has comfortable modern furniture. There are plenty of windows that give magnificent panoramic views stretching from the La Leiche run at Linga, across to the new Porte du Soleil chair lift from Vonnes, and round to the Super Chatel telecabine and Le Combe run down to the village. Quite a view!!
We found all the cooking utensils we needed in the well equipped kitchen, a good broadband connection, English channels on the Sky TV, and lots of hot water for the shower (for those who like a soak after a hard day skiing there is a bath). Although we didn’t try the log fire we are sure it turns an already very warm chalet into a hot house.
Conveniently located, the easy walk into the village, along a well lit road, was just long enough to work up an appetite for dinner or walk off some of the over indulgence of a good night out. When in ski gear the free ski bus was convenient and to be recommended, as the bus stop is just at the top of the path to the chalet and can be seen from the living room. The latter proved especially useful as the bus went past on its out trip and returned about five minutes later, just long enough to get the boots on and get up to the stop with skis in hand.
One surprise was the regular appearance of men with shovels who cleared the snow from the path to the front door. Their large snow shovel proved just the job to dig our car out from the metre or so of snow that fell during our stay.
Beth and Kester were extremely helpful and easy to deal with and our thanks go to them for allowing us to experience their delightful holiday home. We’ll be back for sure.

Spring skiing
My wife and I have stayed at Snowball in March for the last 4 years. The reason we keep going back is simple – it is perfect for us.
Snowball is in a very quiet, but very convenient, location. Off road parking is just outside and out-of-sight. Walking into the centre of Chatel takes less than 10 minutes along an almost flat, very quiet road. We only use the car to go to the main supermarket just outside Chatel or to go over to Morgins, up the valley to Pre la Joux, or down to La Chapelle d’Abondance. The local free little ski bus regularly stops just outside the house, although we have never used it . Snowball is ideally situated, with tremendous views over the valley. Coming home from a day’s skiing and sitting with a glass or two of wine on the verandah as the sun goes down is the perfect end of the day. We eat out occasionally (Le vieux four is our favourite) , but we often stay in with the fire as the apartment is very well equipped. The two bedrooms (upstairs) both have lovely views. The apartment is spacious and having both an upstairs and a downstairs loo is an added bonus. Downstairs opens out onto a large patio area and veranda.
Any downsides? Not for us! Dealing with Beth and Kester has always been very straightforward – and we look forward to returning again next year.

Everything we hoped for
Let's get the only one minor gripe out of the way to start with... I think that the word 'Chalet' may be misleading - this is a lovely Apartment in a Chalet. This said, everything was first rate - well furnished, good kitchen facilities and very well situated. I spent a great week there as 50+ father of 2 sons both in their 20s and it was big enough for all of us to feel comfortable, unlike the cramped 'on top of each other' conditions one experiences in some other properties. So, in summary, a first class apartment - very helpful instructions from the owner before arrival and local agency staff very helpful too. Go there, you'll enjoy it!
