The guesthouse is centrally located, comfortable and immaculately clean. There is a lovely communal lounge area. As mentioned in all the other reviews, the true highlight of the accomodation is the wonderful hospitality offered by Yoshi. Everything has been carefully thought though. For example. when we went hiking, Yoshi offered both hiking boots and umbrellas - really incredible attention to detail. Yoshi took the time to provide valuable suggestions that enhanced our visit to Nikko, from advice regarding hikes to local restaurants. He and Rei really are the epitomy of Japanese hospitality.
Nothing, it was all great.

Good location close to the station, but not on the main busy street, so quieter than other places. Beautiful rooms with places to sit and read and enjoy tea and snacks. Unique artistic details like natural wood branch for a door handle. Futon were very comfortable.
Hosts were amazing! Very friendly and so helpful with local information and fluent in English. Great advice on restaurants and sightseeing!

The hosts were nothing short of spectacular. So welcoming, so helpful, so incredibly kind. I booked this for my ytwo adult children and they gave us the most glowing report. Extra help with transportation, many other things as well... including portrait photographs that the host made of my kids. So impressed!
Nothing!

We had a fantastic couple of days at Sanga Nikko, it was the perfect place to explore Nikko from. It was a prime location, close to all travel connections but also you could easily walk to lots of site seeing spots and shops and restaurants.
A special word for our hosts who were so welcoming and made us feel at home in their home. It was spotlessly clean and comfortable and Yoshi gave us some great advice to help make our stay memorable. He also went out of his way to help with transferring luggage and some laundry help we needed.
Couldn’t fault Sanga Nikko at all and would recommend it to anyone.
You don’t have a private shower, there are two shared ones but this was not an issue for us.
