The apartment is on the 32nd (top) floor of a high rise building that is about a 5-10 minute drive from the airport. The building is on the main coastal highway directly across from the beach and the “Welcome to Cartegena” sign. The main door is alway locked and managed by 24/7 private security that will lock and unlock for you as needed. On arrival I check in with security which involved fillings out a single page form with basic contact info. our passport# as ID. and they took each persons photo for the system. If you aren’t a Spanish speaker just be patient you will both use translation apps and it gets done quickly. After that entrance and exits are hastle free the on duty security will unlock for you to leave and as you return. After security we went up to the apartment where the host had a representative that had cleaned up and welcomed us. She gave us a tour and we got the door entry code. The space looked like the pictures two levels big open living room and kitchen with balcony. I will say the pictures made it seem bigger but it was enough room for my group of 5. Besides the kitchen on that main level there was one bedroom and a separate full bathroom. The upper level had a two sleeping areas. A master bedroom with balcony and attached full bathroom and dressing area and a separate area overlooking the lower living space that fit a bed and small tv stand. We were able to schedule how we would like the space cleaned. Only issue was time to get tvs working.

We had a wonderful stay. Ignacio was very responsive to my questions before we arrived. The condo had everything we needed. The kitchen is well stocked. The beds were comfortable. There is a nice beach across the road and a small grocery store a couple of blocks away. Taxis were easy to get and affordable.

What a great place to stay! Quick check-in, clean apartment and great view. We spent 4 days at this apartment without any issues. Strongly recommended!

The neighborhood is not one that you would walk at night but everything is a short cab ride away. The property was very clean and the maid came everyday. Washer and dryer was a plus. Gorgeous views from the balcony. Downside was that the 3rd bedroom was really an extension of the master Br and it shared a bath with the master. Could not get hot water from the downstairs bath.

I had a group of 7 adults during a 5 day stay. 3 of us stayed in this location and the other 4 rented another penthouse on the same floor. I must say that our place was immaculate. The beds were comfortable, the amenities were stocked well, the place was very clean and everything worked well. The balcony tub does work, as opposed to some reviews, but we didn’t use it. The cleaner was nice and helpful for our questions. We also loved the security aspect. The guard keeps the front door locked and has to check anyone coming in and out. The infinity pool was beautiful, along with the gym. And most importantly, location, location, location. The view from the front and back balconies was gorgeous. The ride the the walled city and pretty much the center is 5 minutes in a cab or a 20 min walk along the beach. We loved it and will recommend it to anyone. I hope to come back again.

Views were spectacular! Host was very responsive! It’s right across from the beach too, which had a lot of locals come out on the weekend so that was fun. Amalfi, the housekeeper, was really sweet. We made the rookie mistake of leaving food out in a warm climate location and attracted ants, so definitely don’t do what we did. But even with our mistake, they kept ant spray and liquid trap on hand for us to use. We also struggled with keeping the hot tub from draining after a day even after turning the knob to the right as the host suggested. Overall a fantastic trip though and would probably stay again!

What a great place to stay. I have always stayed in resorts in my travels. This place was so easy to rent and the views were spectacular. Hot tub is a nice addition. The beds were very comfortable. Will stay here again on my next trip

We really enjoyed our stay over the new year holiday. The condo is in a good location, far enough from the old city and hustle and bustle but close enough for a short cab ride. You can walk but cabs are cheap. The condo was in pretty good shape however we struggled with hot water when showering. It would be really cold or scorching hot and our party had to shower in cycles. The hot tub was not a real hot tub. It is a bath tub that you have to run water in and it leaks out so we were not able to enjoy this as advertised. Also the balconies are amazing but are lacking furniture. The master bedroom balcony upstairs did not have anything to sit on to enjoy the view.
The pool was nice and we enjoyed the steam room.
Be prepared to go to a grocery store to pick up trash bags, paper towels and toilet paper as no extra is provided. There is a small one “Ara” within walking distance.

Enjoyed the stay. Great location access to the beach, super market (great prices) and to center old town. Only concern we experienced was the instability of Wifi. I had school and work that needed to be accomplished over my stay but with the internet being very weak, I had to visit other establishments. Overall great place to enjoy the stay.

I’ll be back is the best thing I can say for the property. The condo was beautiful inside and has everything I needed. It is the penthouse with a beautiful view of the beach snd the ocean. We were able to walk across the street to the beach.
There are several markets close by to get food to prepare as well as snacks
The walled city is only a 5 minute can ride away from the condo. There are also many more attractions within 10-15 minute taxi ride as well.
The property is beautiful. Stark white interior and very clean and comfortable. It’s two stories and has a balcony off the master bedroom that has a beautiful view of the city.
Sr. Ignacio is a wonderful host. He is very willing to go the extra mile for you to make your stay there comfortable and enjoyable.

Simply perfect--unbelievable views, super comfortable beds, working a/c, wifi and hot water that whole time we were there (we travel to Central or South America every holiday and that is a first) and a housekeeper that I would have liked to take home with us! It was the perfect location for a quiet local beach while still being an easy walk/cab ride to the action of Old Town and Gethsemani neighborhoods. Our 2 teen boys thought they had died and gone to heaven: beach, hot tub, big TV, Wi-Fi, and a local bakery that they ate at every morning (their pastries and bread were amazing). We assembled a 1,000 piece puzzle, played a ton of cards, and enjoyed many lovely happy hours with the ocean breeze blowing throughout the apartment. I will never forget sitting on the master bedroom balcony (which overlooks the city) on Christmas Eve listening to the neighborhood parties--the music spiraling up to the balcony while fireworks popped throughout the city. It was truly magical. The building was certainly secure although we never felt unsafe in the city. It was easy to catch cabs when we needed but the walk was easy (and safe). For 15m (about $5), we rented shade and chairs at the beach. Beach towels were provided and plentiful. The whole experience was warm and welcoming, as was Ignacio's suggestions for Cartagena (we did many of them) and we can't wait for our next trip to Colombia.

We had no idea what to expect as we’d never been to Cartagena before but this place had amazing views, great air conditioning, a fully working hot tub and a very polite maid who came in daily. Overall it was clean, bright and spacious and a perfect stay for our party of 6. I’m glad I wasn’t swayed by the few negative reviews as mostly English speaking guests we felt completely safe in the area. It was an easy walk to the old town and most cab drivers knew exactly where the building was as soon as we said the name making it easy to get back at night. Highly recommended!!

While the location does not provide an easy walking distance to upscale restaurants and shops, we quickly found that catching a cab was quick and easy. We enjoyed staying slightly outside of the main tourist area and were glad we selected this location rather than in Boca Grande. My son loved the quick access to the local futbol field outback!

From the minute we walked in we just could not be leave how buetifull , place looked brand new, just recently painted .the views on both sides of apartment are incredible, The king beds were so comfy and luxury linens. Absolutely the best place in Cartagena! . I do not give credit unless it is earned and deserved! I had the pleasure of renting this Modern penthouse. The Penthouse is as depicted absolutely incredible. The place was meticulous, impeccable, and beyond clean. The owner pays attention to every detail. The airport only 5 minutes away and the old city 2 minutes form building. There is a grocery store only one block away and a bar inside the ibis hotel on the corner . The security guard in this building is attentive and awake 24/7. You can pay more for a place or less for a place but no matter what you pay you will never beat this place. This is the best presidential suite you can ever find. II will return again to Cartagena and when I do I will absolutely stay here again. In fact even if I had to adjust my flight schedule due to occupancy of this apartment, I would make the adjustment. I am an international landlord and I have to give this apartment and its owner a 20 in a 1 to 10 score. Book this apartment and you are going to have the best trip of your life. I have stayed in Apartments all over the world. This apartment is among the best I have ever stayed at. Good Luck on your trip and enjoy the splendor of Cartagena!

Inside unit: the pictures make the place look incredible and while the view is quite nice, the interior has some issues. The beds were very hard and the furniture in general felt very cold... the couch is uncomfortable without any pillows or throws, there is no floor lighting anywhere so at night, everything feels really intense with blinding white lights everywhere. One shower was broken and only dripped water (the main floor bathroom) and the bathroom in the upstairs area had a crack in the wall so large you could see out of the building. Kind of scary. The hot tub takes about an hour and a half to fill and the jets work moderately well but it drains onto the floor which is slippery when wet out on the balcony. There were no hair dryers available which is mentioned in the listing, so we had to wait until the next day to ask the housekeeper to bring them the following day after that. In general, it just wasn't a place you really want to relax in.
Responsiveness from owner: Ignacio was very responsive, which I really appreciated. Random questions we had he was able to answer within an hour at most, usually.
Location: because the beaches are not great in most of Cartagena proper, you are going to want to go to a resort or beach club and buy a day pass anyway (or find your way to an island/boat for the day). There isn't really anything in this area and we basically just hopped in a cab every day to go the relatively short distance to the old city or to a beach outside the city. There isn't a walkable bar, restaurant, or large grocery story in the area (too far to carry much and at night, the area does not seem all that safe).
Pool and clubhouse: the pool and clubhouse was either closed or crowded every day. During the week, it closes at 7pm or 9pm, which means that you can't enjoy the hot tub at night or grill out, as we had planned. During the day, the pool does not get sun which makes it not that great at any time. The hot tub takes a couple of hours to really get hot, too, so you have to plan in advance.
Safety: the guard/doorman was very nice and had to lock and unlock the door each time we entered or left and opened the door for us each time. It felt safe inside as he had our names and got to know us throughout the week. There are two locks on the unit door. The area immediately outside the unit felt a little sketchy at night though it's likely just because there really isn't anything in the area. By day, it feels 100% safe.

The view is breathtaking literally, it's a perfect place away from noisy crowds you will find in El Centro. The building is secure and an easy cab ride to Boca Grande or El Centro. Amalfi kept the place immaculate and was willing to come anytime to clean or prepare a meal. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone heading to Cartagena.

Loved staying here! The views are incredible -- amazing views of the ocean/northern coast from the hot tub patio, and then incredible sweeping views of the city/downtown from the main entrance. Plus, the apt is located right between the airport and the historic center (about 10 minutes from each!), making it easy to get around. And, there is a small market down the block and the Ibis hotel next door, so you can get food easily at any time. Whether you want to use the main pool (which is a beautiful infinity pool overlooking the ocean) or the actual ocean itself, both are literally at your doorstep. The hot tub fills up slowly, but it gets full and gets toasty -- plus, the colored lights are fun at night! The house attendant was super helpful and kept us nice and tidy. A/C worked well in all rooms. Would stay here again and would highly recommend this apartment to fellow travelers!

Really beautiful apartment. Meticulously clean. It's a little north of the walled city and the heavily developed part of Cartagena but that's not a bad thing. The beach is literally a one minute walk. There's a hotel next door with a 24 hr taxi stand and a supermarket five minutes away. The airport is only a five minute drive. A taxi to the old city is 3-4 dollars US max. I prefer this place because Cartagena is hot and being in the walled city can be stifling. This apartment is on the 32nd floor with cool breezes off of the sea, an excellent staff, an attentive owner and all of the amenities we spoiled westerners are used to. Another plus is that you may very well have the beach to yourself. Also, there is parking. Renting a car in colombia is easy and inexpensive. Another thing:There's a small police station right behind the building. We felt safe and secure. Definitely coming back.

The apartment was maintained as images show. It was just my husband and I so it was nice having the place to ourselves.

TV, music, WIFI all great features to have in apartment.

The unit was spacious, with great views. I enjoy the Cartagena culture, partly because the pace there is slower than in Florida. Amalfi's cooking was wonderful. It was close to the walled city with plenty of taxi's. We will be back next year!
