Sleeping up to 8 guests it is ideal for families or close friends to escape to the country and just relax & enjoy both the serenity of the farm but also enjoy the many activities that the Noosa Hinterland offers. As a family we enjoy the beach during the summer and sitting around a fire in winter so 4 years ago we went searching for a property that we could all spend time together. We found a little tired cottage sitting in 24 acres of an old dairy farm, high on a hill that offered the most spectacular views and was only 20 mins to the beach. We bought it that day and have spent those last 4 years renovating the home and building a modern barn to an extremely high standard, each completed self contained with two bedrooms, with quality fixtures and fittings, built fire pits, an outdoor cinema, become proud owners of Highland cows, ducks, chickens, bees and planted orchards but we have been very careful not to lose the authentic feel of a working country home that we found so appealing the first time we set eyes on the property. We plan to continue to improve Thirlestane in the coming years with the addition of a pool and further eco-cottages set around the farm, but for the time being we're just delighted to have found this wee jewel in the middle of the most beautiful countryside.
