Located in Holetown, this lovely house for $218 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. No 9 Porters Gate is an air conditioned villa located in a small gated community amongst fragrant gardens with a tennis court, communal pool and clubhouse. Our superb two bedroom villa with en suite bathrooms is only a short walk to the fabulous Alleyne beach. The spacious ground floor is open plan leading onto a tropical patio with it's own plunge pool. The modern kitchen is ideal for conjuring up those Caribbean culinary delights. Choose to eat at either the breakfast bar or at the dining table or maybe dine outside where you may spot a monkey on the fence or a humming bird hovering at the Hibiscus! Relax on comfortable sofas and maybe watch TV or listen to your favourite track on the blue tooth speaker. The master bedroom has a super king sized bed, balcony, dressing room and en suite wet room. The second bedroom has twin beds (or zipped together to form a super king) balcony and en suite bathroom with a walk in shower and marble vanity unit. We aim to make your stay on the island as pleasurable and trouble free as possible - to this end our team will oversee your stay at Porters Gate. We arrange a once weekly maid / cleaning service with fresh linen provided. Additional maids' visits can also be arranged along with taxi / car hire should the requirement be needed. A taxi can also be arranged to meet you at the airport if you do not wish to hire a car. Our local representative will discuss any requirements you may have when you arrive and will always be on hand to help with any queries or recommendations you may have. Any additional services you may wish to use will be charged for locally. Please note that the check in time is after 15.30pm and check out time is 11.00am. The check out time is flexible unless we have guests arriving on the same day. Please discuss with our property manager during your stay who will be more than happy to assist where possible.

We thoroughly enjoyed our ten days in beautiful Barbados while residing at this property. The owners were a dream to deal with and Marcia, the property manager, was kind and responded to all our questions and needs. Given we stayed in July, we were so grateful to have the lovely plunge pool out back to cool off in the evenings after our trek to the beach. Be careful walking to the beach, sidewalks are limited and traffic is non-stop. Thank you to all the incredibly kind Bajan people we encountered on our many excursions who readily answered our questions and redirected us when we were lost. Special shout out to Jason who took us to and from the airport and toured us around the island. He was professional, knowledgeable and kind. Would recommend this property to others!

We stayed a week at the villa and found it to be spacious; clean; comfortable; and in an ideal location for us. The pictures were accurate. It also has all of the creature comforts you need if you want to cook or make drinks. AC works well, no issues. Ample fans. Plenty of towels. The plunge pool was glorious. Watched the sunset from the main bedroom balcony.
If you are ok with taking the bus, the stops are a short walk from the villa. Beach is about 5-7 min walk.
The owner alerted us about possible construction work in the area. Minimal noise. No major disturbance.
Ryan's Happy grocery store and the bakery about a 10 min walk.
Marcia the property manager was excellent. She was responsive to all of our requests and arranged transport for us. We had a wonderful time. Would book again.

From start to finish we had an amazing stay at no:9. The property has everything you could possibly need and more. It was beautifully clean and well maintained. The plunge pool is just perfect and the little garden such a nice place to sit and soak up the sun. The location is ideal, quiet but within walking distance of the beach and some bars and restaurants. Our communication with both the owners and Marcia was perfect, questions answered swiftly and Marcia on hand on site if we had any issues, she was so welcoming. This wasn’t our first visit and I suspect it won’t be the last !

Apart from the nearby building work - a super stay. Excellent House Manager and House Keeper looked after us well. being able to walk to beach and bars was a real plus.

What a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Wendy was an exceptional host. If I could give 6 stars I would. Having been let down by another VRBO host I contacted Wendy who was efficient and so helpful . I valued her quick response times and extra detail from car hire suggestions Stoutts to restaurants Local & Co .etc The property photos really reflect the care of the property and it’s high standard of maintenance and presentation. The extra personal touches in so many ways really made a difference from lovely bedding , towels for pool and beach , a fantastic room to wash off sand and cream up and a well equipped kitchen. The ice machine was most appreciated !
The outside area and plunge pool was a bonus and one that made it such a relaxing area to chill. Worth every penny ! The location being able to walk to the bakery plus a little convenience shop , Lonestar and a great beach made its position perfect ! Our 2 week stay was perfect ! I would highly recommend this property . Look forward to returning one day. Thank you Wendy and Richard

Porters Gate Retreat
The property was very clean and well maintained. The layout was a perfect place for two couples to share. All the essentials and more were supplied. The location of the property was very convenient as it was only minutes away from the bus stop and a fifteen to twenty minute walk to Holetown. The owner, Wendy, was quick to respond to any queries and the property manger, Rachel, was very friendly and helpful and she made us feel comfortable as soon as we arrived. We look forward To returning to this wonderful townhouse.

My wife and I spent a fantastic week at this wonderful property. This was our second trip to Barbados and our first stay at 9 Porters gate. We found this location to be much better than our previous location. The owners Wendy and Richard along with Rachel the property manager are all excellent to deal with. The property location is great and in walking distance to the beach and fantastic restaurants. The home has everything you need. It's a great open concept and you get a wonderful breeze with the doors opened. We spent most of our time at the beach and watched some amazing sunsets. In the evening we would relaxing by the private plunge pool. Our only regret was not booking for a second week but we will be back!

Lovely two weeks in Portersgate
Very plaisant stay. The website and reviews really do reflect accurately this very comfortable and well equipped villa. Rachel did a great job in welcoming us and answering our questions. We particularly enjoyed our game tennis every morning and the small pool. The gated housing underwent a transformation whilst we were there as significant work was done on the gardens. We will be back!

This was our second stay at 9 porters gate, everything was perfect, the location for us is great as we walk to the beach and take the bus from the end of the street to get to Holetown for bars and restaurants.

It is our second visit to this fabulous property, from being picked up at the airport the experience was all good, it was quite late when we arrived at the house but we were still greeted and shown around. The location is great for the beach and getting into Hole Town. Would we go again? We can't wait.

Fantastic Trip!
My wife and I recently spent a week here and loved it. The location was great, a short walk to the beach, and just over a kilometer to Holetown. The condo was excellent and had everything we would need for our stay. The hosts were also very helpful and were a pleasure to deal with while we were organizing our stay. Overall we loved our stay and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

A wonderful holiday!
We have just returned from the most wonderful 2 weeks at Porters Gate. Richard and Wendy have been really great to deal with throughout. They have been very helpful, quick to respond and our booking experience with them has been first class.
The property itself was perfect for our needs - lots of space, really comfortable and very well equipped.
Richard kindly arranged for airport transfers for all of us and it all worked out well.
The house is in a quiet residential complex about 15 minutes walk from Alleyne's Bay - one of the best beaches on the island. We spent many a happy day there, sunbathing, enjoying the banter with the chaps on the beach and having a few drinks from JuJu's bar whilst watching the most glorious sunsets.
One of the chaps on the beach (Patrick) owns a small boat and he took us up to Speightstown so we could swim with turtles in peace and quiet rather than booking a trip down south with all of the other tourists. Well worth the money to have the boat (and turtles!) all to ourselves.
We had great food (as usual) when visiting Harlequins down in St Lawrence and also at the Waterfront Café in Bridgetown )we ventured there one evening for their jazz night, which was good fun).
In summary, we had a perfect holiday, based in a wonderful property. I would have no hesitation in recommending this place.

Absolutely fantastic!
The house is perfect. Lots of space, well decorated and with everything anyone could wish for. We spent most evenings sitting on the terrace by the plunge pool. The bedrooms are very comfortable and each has an en-suite bathroom. The open plan kitchen, dining, lounge is very airy and well equipped.
Each day we either walked to Alleyene’s Bay, to Holetown or caught a reggae bus into Bridgetown. A wonderful 2 weeks away from a cold and wet UK.
The booking process was very easy and the owners, Richard and Wendy, kept in regular contact before the holiday and also whilst we were staying at the house. They were a delight to deal with and responded very quickly to any questions.
Overall, probably one of the best holidays we have had in Barbados!

Relaxing property with 'Home from Home' comforts
Richard and Wendy were easy to communicate with from start to finsh including during our stay. 2 bedroom house about a mile north of Holetown and easily walkable or minutes by local bus. The house is positioned in a secure and gated complex. It has a plunge pool in a private rear garden and the property has two bedrooms and both ensuite. All the facilities are available at the house including washing, cooking and fully serviceable kitchen. It's like home from home and all the comforts. It's kept very clean and serviced extreme well. There is a TV set in the house with access to sport.
It's a relatively short walk from the beach and off the main road, which makes it accessible yet quiet. The pool is cleaned each week and the house is also cleaned and together with exchange of towels and sheets.
It's in walking distance of JuJu's a beach bar and 'The Loan Star' restaurant. It's also within a short bus ride of Holetown where you will find bars, restaurants, Lime Grove for shopping, Maceys supermarket and surf side, another beach bar with TV screens for sports and cheaper prices. You will also see some terrific sunsets whilst sipping cocktails and Banks beers! It's also close to Carizma on the Hill on the Westmorland estate and Cafe Bar Carizma near the Chatel village.
9 Porters Gate is a great place to stay and one I would highly recommend for a couple or family to stay!

Wonderful holiday in Porters Gate
We had a lovely holiday at Porters Gate, the house had everything that we needed and the location was fantastic for the most beautiful beaches and the bars and restaurants in Holetown. Rachel was extremely helpful and Richard and Wendy always promptly responded to our enquiries. We would love to return to Porters Gate again in the future.

Superb Location
We arrived just before New Year for nearly 4 weeks (only now getting around to review) Great spot for a longer stay.Very handy for Holetown but better with a car which we had for the duration of our stay.Property was spotless and had everything we needed.Ironing board was broken but was immediately replaced with a new one when reported.Rachel was a fantastic manager and the owners were extremely helpful when needed to answer any queries.Favorite restaurants were Nishi ,Tides and The Cliff Beach Club.All very expensive especially with the exchange at present.Ju Ju’s great but make sure you are not in a hurry! Beach bar at Royal Pavillion Hotel was surprisingly good value considering its 5 star status.Only downside is not being on the beach but price reflects this.Would certainly stay again.

We really enjoyed SeaCat restaurant just along the main road and the Lobster Pot in Speightstown. The races were a great day out as was the Catermaran trip. A great 2 weeks and would recommend this property.

Beautiful property, great location
We stayed 3 weeks at Porters Gate and didn’t want to leave. A spacious well equipped comfortable house in a secure quiet location and a short walk to several beaches. Booking with Wendy and Richard was seamless and we were left to enjoy the property with the very occasional visit by Rachel to check we were okay. We would book this property again given the chance.

Beautiful home!!
This was my 13th visit to the island and 3rd stay in Porters Gate. Wendy and Richard were very warm and friendly with their responses each time I emailed them. The arranged taxi even offered to stop at the supermarket for us to gather some groceries. Upon arrival we were greeted by Rachel who again was very friendly and nothing was a bother for her. The house is truly beautiful, tastefully decorated throughout and very well equipped. Plenty of space for 2 couples. I have no hesitation in recommending this property, but just don't book for when I'm next there!! Absolutely wonderful place.

A home away from home
We had a fantastic break at Richard and Wendy's lovely property. It's very well located being near to wonderful beaches and restaurants.
The property is well managed and maintained with everything being provided saving you from having to buy dishwasher tablets. washing up liquid, etc.
It's very good value which really helps as Barbados is no longer a cheap island - expect to pay central London prices for most things! However, the people and beautiful island make it a price worth paying.
I would recommend this property unreservedly.

Fantastic holiday
Sometimes you read the reviews and think they are too good to be true, but not in this case. Really a home from home, Rachel and Raphael are also so good they really go beyond the mark. Great location with one of the best beaches within 5 minutes walk.. We had a fantastic 2 week stay, such a good find. Good communication from Wendy and Richard. Having returned from a fabulous holiday in Barbados which was made all the more special by staying at Richard and Wendy's beautiful home, we were met at the airport by Raphael and driven the short journey to our lovely holiday home where we were greeted by Rachael who gave us a detailed tour, which made us feel immediately at home. The house was so well equipped it really was home from home. We spent many a happy hour on the back veranda enjoying a glass of wine and the occasional cool down in the dip pool.

I was having difficulty getting tickets for the West Indies v England cricket match at the Kensington Oval so Richard asked Rachael if she could help, needless to say two tickets were waiting for us on our arrival.
We certainly intend to return in the not too distant future.

As the title says, excellent, from the initial booking request, dealing with Wendy and Richard to the pre -stay information and arrangements for airport pick up to arrival at the house all was just perfect and totally hassle free, both Rachel and Raphael could not have been more helpful.
The house was absolutely as described and spotlessly clean with everything on hand for a most enjoyable time.
The location was fantastic with the best beach just a few minutes walk away, and local bars close buy.
We had a most wonderful time.

This roomy townhouse in a wonderful location makes you feel like you are living in Barbados, not just visiting.
The home has two large bedrooms, each with their own full bathroom. The downstairs open floor plan gives a family plenty of space. 9 Porters Gate has a well equipped kitchen and a lovely outdoor space with a dunking pool. We ate every meal out there. The property manager, Rachel, is always available for all your questions or needs.
The location of 9 Porters Gate is superb. Removed from road noise, it is nice and quiet. A short stroll puts you on the very best beaches of Thw west coast of Barbados. Situated close to Holetown, and not far from Speightstown enables a visitor to sample two authentic towns with wonderful restaurants and stores.
We rented a car which made things convenient but a bus stop and the bottom of the road is very close.
We had a wonderful holiday here and expect to return.
