Alekas Studios itself is a very nice place. The location is close to the beach, waterfalls, tavernas and cafés. The property has a huge, beautiful garden with lots of flowers and lovely views. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, with a comfortable bed and sofa, a kitchenette and everything you need for a pleasant stay.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: I would strongly recommend making sure that you are actually accommodated at Alekas Studios. If you are told that there has been a “mistake” or “problem” with your reservation and are offered Psarotherma Rooms or Armonia Samothraki Rooms instead, I would personally not accept the change. Keep in mind that Villa Aleka (in Chora) is also connected to these properties.
These properties are run by the same people, but based on our experience, the difference in quality is significant. Psarotherma Rooms and Armonia Samothraki Rooms are of a much lower standard – much smaller rooms, extremely cramped bathrooms and serious privacy issues.
So, to be clear, **Alekas Studios itself was good and we enjoyed it.** My warning is specifically about accepting a replacement property if there is suddenly a “problem” with your Alekas Studios reservation.
Make sure you know exactly which property you are being accommodated in before agreeing to any change.
The main downside is the language barrier. The hosts speak little absolutely no English, which makes communication difficult when a problem arises. In our experience, instead of trying to find a solution, the language barrier sometimes felt like a convenient way to avoid discussing and resolving the issue.
!!! Worth knowing: Villa Aleka (Chora), Alekas Studios, Psarotherma Rooms and Armonia Samothraki Rooms (Therma) are connected and run by the same people.

Beautiful place set in an old orchard full of olive trees. Difficult to find the office but we managed. Owners speak German but again we managed. Close to Therma and Waterfalls. We would definitely come again .

The main garden is very calm.
Comfortable beds.
Rusty kettle for greek coffee.
A half toilet paper roll left by the previous guests!
Mops and bucket left in bathroom.
Weeds narrowing the path leading to the room.
