Fiordarancio Room Rental

The building itself is beautiful and beautifully situated, nestled into the hillside and surrounded by vegetation. The rooftop terrace is where you will get a beautiful view, we very much enjoyed taking our breakfasts and dinner up there. The bathroom was clean and beautifully decorated, the bed linen was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was delightful to open up the shutters with the oleander trees just outside.

What is not clearly stated is the fact that you need to climb 129 steps (some quite wide) from street level to reach the property- no easy task if you are carrying a reasonable amount of luggage or are older or find it difficult to walk or climb. (If you are staying in one of the lower floor rooms you will then also need to walk down more than 25 steps.)

Lovely place, the great number of stairs were a surprise. Due to busyness I hadn't really taken a dive into the offer to help with bags on arrival. It was only on our way that I realised we needed help. This was provided at short notice thank you. There was no one available to help down when we left a few days later. There were 132 steps to our accommodation. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful time. The room was great.

The room was kept super clean and the air-con worked well. Was great to have a small refrigerator, kettle and coffee machine in the room

The 1000+ steps up and down to the room. Some places were really dangerous without a ballustade. Hardly any lights to support evening/ nights out and back. Help with luggage up and down would be a big plus.

Overall, the accommodation was very clean, modern, and thoughtfully furnished. I really appreciated the little details in the room, such as the coffee machine, small kettle, and mini fridge, which made the stay more comfortable. The room was cleaned daily, fresh towels were provided regularly, and the owners were very responsive and helpful whenever I needed assistance, including answering questions about taxi services and where to store my luggage after check-out. Despite the steep hill climb to reach the accommodation, the location was excellent. The main entrance was right in the heart of New Town, providing easy access to many great restaurants, shops, and the beach, including the bathing area near the Statua del Gigante.

The main challenge, and the biggest factor affecting my overall experience, was the steep hill required to reach the accommodation. I was aware of this before booking based on previous reviews, but the climb was more demanding than I had anticipated. Having to make the uphill walk multiple times a day for meals, beach visits, tours, and exploring the town became tiring and significantly affected my overall experience. I would recommend future guests consider this carefully, particularly if they are not comfortable with steep inclines or frequent uphill walking. While this is not something the owners can control, it is an important practical consideration when choosing this accommodation. The check-in process could also have been clearer. A couple of hours before arrival, I received several messages with information and forms to complete before receiving the specific location details. Having the full check-in instructions and location details provided at least 24–48 hours earlier would have made the arrival process smoother and less stressful. One additional issue was that the room I stayed in (Room 101) was not fully soundproof. Noise from the room above, including furniture being moved at night, was noticeable on several evenings. This is not necessarily within the owners’ control, but it did affect the overall comfort of the stay. On arrival, I noticed an unpleasant smell in the bathroom. I mentioned this to the owners, who were responsive and advised that the cleaners would address it. However, the smell unfortunately remained during my stay. I later found that the toilet bowl cleaner appeared to be contributing to the smell, so I moved it outside of the room. This was a minor issue overall, but it did affect the initial comfort of using the bathroom. Overall, the accommodation was clean, modern, and well managed, and the owners were very helpful. The main factor affecting my experience was the steep hill access, along with a few smaller comfort issues.
