Friendly, good value guesthouse at the heart of Moyogalpa

For the price I paid for a room with an ensuite bathroom and fairly good breakfast it was really a steal. The people who run the guesthouse are very friendly although little English is spoken. The guesthouse is only a block away from Moyogalpa's main street and a short walk from the ferry port.

The check out time at 10 is way too early and although they gave me late checkout, they switched off the water so I couldn't shower before I left.

Good location but not value you for your money while renovations are taking place!

The guest house was centrally located near the centre.

They in the process of doing major renovations to the main house. Kitchen facilities were not available despite the higher prices. They did not have a gate entry system in place if you went out and came back after the gate was locked. It would have been nice to have been told what to do!

Great Folks at the Nena Guest House

I left two pouches with my passport, money, and everything important I was traveling with at the Guest House Nena when I departed to take a ferry back to San Jorge. I had no idea I had left them! They were under a sheet on the bed that I had inadvertently covered them with. After the people at the Guesthouse found my pouches and their valuable contents, they looked around for me, and the young lady from the Nena eventually ended up boarding ferry before we left and asked for me. Fortunately, she found me. I thanked her profusely and gave her a hug. I was extremely happy and grateful to have my stuff and to have adverted a semi-disaster. I owe that girl and the Guest House Nena in Moyogalpa….

Nice rustic stay in Ometepe with really friendly hosts

+the hosts are awesome +the patio is nice +room is basic but totally fine, especially for the price +price

not necessarily something bad but keep in mind that you book something basic so you will get something basic

Very good

Good location, close to the ferry port and restaurants/supermarket in the town. Our guest helped organise renting a scooter for the day which was very helpful. The wifi worked very well.

we weren’t given any keys to unlock property gates so we got locked out a couple times throughout the day and had to wait for someone to see us.

Great value stay in Ometepe

The family are so nice and friendly. Breakfast is only 140c and really great! The room was comfortable with plenty of room. Location was great, really close to shops and the port. There are washing lines to dry your clothes. They also can get cheap scooter rental for you. They even have a hair salon on the property for a great haircut!

There was no running water a lot of the time but this is a problem on the island, not just Nena's place.

Bit expensive for a basic room

The free breakfast was delicious, and the little courtyard was quite nice. Good location

Room was very basic and hot even with the fan. The first person to check us in gave us some misinformation but then the next day, the host arrived and explained things to us which improved our stay.

Perfect stay

- It's nearby the ferry, only 5 minutes walk. - You can rent a cheap and good scooter. - The host is lovely. She is making breakfast every morning in her kitchen and you can eat it in her kitchen while her family is there too. A nice experience how people from Nicaragua live. - She is a pedicure as well. - She is speaking Spanish, but with Google translate it works perfect.

This place is amazing! My private room was huge for 9 dollars. They even made breakfast extra early for me when I had to leave early to go on the volcano hike. The staff were super nice and the water is drinkable. Private bathroom.

No kitchen. That's all!

Very friendly family, solid location in Moyogalpa near the main drag + ferry, good wifi (hard to find on the island). Great value

Location. Quick check-in. Reliable internet connection. Safety. Towels and soap provided. Luggage storage. General friendliness in spite of no linguistic connection. Price. Comfy big bed. Working shower. En suite bathroom.

Well, bugs in the room and holes in the doorframe. No lighting options except the one that was very bright. No mosquito nets in the window.

Perfect.

Perfect place to stay if you wanna explore the island! Walking distance to the ferry, the supermarket and a lot of restaurants. You can park your scooter/motobike at night inside. The room and the bathroom is very clean and the bed is comfortable. For me it was a perfect accomondation for a trip to ometepe.

Nice little place with great hosts

There was a booking mess up and the room I had booked was taken, so the family moved in together and gave me one of their rooms. Very nice people. It is very close to the ferry dock and you can easily walk. Go up the main street for 3 blocks (there is a restaurant La Esquinita Caliente) and turn left. It's about 100m from there.
