About this farm stay rental
Fienile is the two-bedroom hayloft cottage of Borgo Castelrotto, on our 600-hectare organic wine estate between Siena and Montalcino, Tuscany. It sleeps up to 4 guests and is available to book independently only during the estate's off season (1 October – 30 April), when the rest of Borgo Castelrotto is closed.
Bedrooms & bathrooms: Upstairs, a large loft bedroom with en-suite bathroom (shower). On the ground floor, a double bedroom with twin beds and a private en-suite bathroom (shower). A cot and high chair are available on request for younger children.
Living spaces: The ground floor is open-plan, with a fully equipped kitchen with new appliances seating up to 4, and a living room with comfortable sofas and a characteristic stone fireplace. French doors lead out to the garden.
Outdoors: During the off season, guests have exclusive use of the entire Castelrotto grounds — gardens, olive groves, and a bocce court directly in front of the cottage. The house is reached along a gravel country road winding through the vineyards. The pool is closed from 1 October to 30 April.
Heating: For stays of up to [3/5] nights, heating is included; for longer stays, it is billed based on actual consumption.
Location: A short 30-minute drive to Pienza or Siena, with Montalcino visible on its hilltop from the garden by day and night. An 18-hole golf course sits just across the valley, also visible from the house.
Experiences: We're happy to arrange a visit and tasting of our estate wine and olive oil production at our historical cantina, on request.

After the bustle of Florence, and a larger Agriturismo with many guests, it was lovely to come to Violante's beautiful property in the country.
The apartment is located with a view of olive groves and a lovely pool. The property is simply but adequately furnished, with air conditioning and plenty of room.
One thing to note is that the only local grocery store has limited hours. It closes at 8:30 most nights, and 1:00 pm on Sundays. You may wish to shop for provisions before arrival, because it is so lovely once you get there you won't want to venture out to the store again in the evening. The property had salt, sugar and coffee when we arrived, so plan on supplying everything else.
Violante and her team were very gracious hosts, and we loved the bottle of wine from the estate that was waiting on our arrival. We would definitely stay here again!
