We would have liked to stay longer, but did not have the privacy we asked for.

The location and beach was beautiful. The inside decor was tasteful and the unit was spacious.

We were promised a quiet and private unit, but it turned out to be on the fishing route of the local village. Villagers came and went as they pleased from as early as 5am, collecting water from the shower in front of our unit, asking for sigarettes and sitting on the beach in front of us staring at us - no privacy at all. We complained on the first day but on the second day the same happened and even more people showed up, doing their ablutions right in front of us and having no regard for our space or privacy. It is clear that there is no arrangement with the local people to respect guests' privacy at the lodge. The local road also goes right past the chalets, and every now and again a car went by right next to our unit. Children were speeding up and down in front of our unit on 4x4 ATV's, spoiling the tranquility of the area. The photos on the website is not a true reflection of what the lodge looks like. Although it was neat and clean inside, the maintenance is not up to standard and the units are a bit tired on the outside. Some buildings have been left derelict and gives the impression that there is not proper management. We had a blocked drain and had to endure construction to fix it for a whole day. The ceiling fan in the room did not work. We would have expected at least some discount for the inconveniences, but none was offered. The setting is very nice, but the lodge is not value for money unfortunately.

Pura Vida is on the beach, it is quiet and serene! The chalets are well equipped and absolutely lovely! Daniel is very friendly and so so helpful! We had a wonderful time and would definitely return! Such good value for money
