Nestled in West Custer Township, this charming chalet for $193 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Elk Haven is a collection of 5 cabins on a 7 acre property located in the Black Hills, on the edge of Custer, SD. Our Cabins are ideal for families, reunions, hunters and group gatherings ...as well as a romantic getaway for two. Because our cabins are centrally located to all the area's wonderful Black Hills and Mt. Rushmore attractions, it's only minutes until you're back "Home" to rest and enjoy the natural beauty and serenity right off the deck of your Black Hills cabin. There is a master bedroom with queen bed and closet, with direct access to a spacious bathroom with a shower. The loft area above is divided for privacy and has 2 queen beds. There is also a living and dining room area. Each cabin has a full kitchen with all the amenities of home which include stove, refrigerator, toaster, coffee pot, blender, dinnerware, silverware, pots, pans, cooking utensils, bakeware; everything down to spice rack, dish/hand soap, hand and paper towels. Each Cabin has it own private deck with outdoor furniture, BBQ with tools, and great views of wildlife! Elk Haven is a great space for a family to spread out and get comfortable and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the Black Hills. Check out our newest property located just 3/4 of a mile up the road past the cabins. The Bluebird's Nest is a brand new garage apartment with a master bedroom and bunk room. It has one Twin XL and one Full size bed in the bunk room, Queen bed in master bedroom, and queen pullout couch in the living room. The kitchen has a full size refridgerator/dishwasher and microwave. Bathroom with double vanity. This location has heat and A/C. Property backs up to Forest Service and view of Crazy Horse. Peaceful and beautiful location.

Hubby and i stayed in cabin #1 at Elk Haven cabins for a week and found it to be comfortable and clean with all amenities needed. The only thing that would make it absolutely perfect would be laundry facilities, but that was such a small thing for us that it didn't detract at all. There were lots of brochures and info provided on things to see and do. The full kitchen was handy for making breakfast. We only used the downstairs bedroom, but that bed was comfy and we slept well. it was so quiet and There were so many stars at night, we actually found the Milky Way. we saw lots of deer and wild turkeys along the road, especially around dusk and early in the morning. It was just a lovely place to stay for all our activities.

The cabin was great but I found out at our age we need air conditioning. The fans did not do the job. On days when it was a bit cooler it was quite comfortable. The managers did a terrific job taking care of the cabin and the outside area. The surrounding area was beautiful and a nice distance from Custer. We saw young fawns almost every day. I appreciate the managers for their consideration of their guests.

We enjoyed our stay and hope to come back in the future. Cabin was spacious, clean and if we forgot some thing, the cabin had it waiting for us to use it. Pet friendly was a bonus and will suggest it to others!

This cabin was so centrally located to everything. Tucked away not far off the main road, but far enough that we were able to enjoy nature. Very relaxing and plenty of great hiking and lakes to enjoy.

Just outside the city of Custer, we were able to get in all Black Hills attractions. The property is centrally located in the Black Hills. Had great host, that made sure we had everything we needed. Would recommend a 4-6 day stay

The cabin itself was clean and well equipped. We left after the first night. No A/C and barking dog next door. 90+ degrees is too hot to leave an animal in a rental with no A/C. The listing description should include heat only, not just heat under amenities. Ended up spending more money to leave and stay at the Holiday Inn.

Great location. It served as our home base as we spent the days site seeing. Cabin was clean and it is off the main road, which is nice, but also only minutes away from Custer. The owners check in with you to make sure you have everything you need, which I thought was really awesome!

This property was clean but very uncomfortable. We Booked a six-night stay to visit the nearby sites and come back a relax at the cabin which was very uncomfortable. They did not provide enough towels for our stay. We left a day early because their was no point staying any longer.

The cabin was everything we needed! It was quiet and peaceful and a nice big yard to take the dogs out. We hiked and enjoyed the beautiful Black Hills. The owners of the cabin were exceptionally accommodating! We will definitely be back!

My husband, my father, and I stayed here for our annual trip to the Black Hills. This was our third time staying here and this time we brought our black lab puppy and the cabin was very dog friendly. The hosts are very responsive, friendly, and eager to help if needed. The cabin is always clean and well stocked with the essentials plus some. WiFi works great, too. Can’t wait to be back next year, or sooner!
