The hotel is beautiful with a very unique decoration, fabulous breakfast and professional staff.

Hotel Mariscal Robledo is a truly magical place in Santa Fe de Antioquia, and for good reason—this was my second time staying here. The historic beauty and peaceful atmosphere are undeniable, but this most recent visit has left me with some reservations about returning. . The entire hotel is a museum of Antioquía's cultural Legacy. Breakfast options are locally-sourced farm-to-table, highlighting traditional Colombian flavours. Internet connection is really good, in case you need to work remotely. If you are a book worm, I'd recommend spending some meaningful time at the library, a place I found truly remarkable.

While the check-in process was seamless, my experience this time highlighted some significant issues, particularly as a solo female traveler. I felt an unnecessary and frustrating level of chauvinism from the staff. I was consistently addressed in the plural despite being alone, and my name was even changed from "Andrea" to "Andres" on a breakfast list. It felt as though I was invisible; service at breakfast and dinner was slow and inattentive compared to other guests. I often had to get up and seek out a staff member for assistance, which was disappointing and made me feel unwelcome. The hotel’s amenities also fell short of what was advertised. The "smoke-free" promise felt hollow when a strong smell of smoke wafted in from the parking garage to the pool area. Similarly, the pool, which is meant to be a quiet space, was disrupted by loud conversations among employees, undermining its intended purpose. My dinner experience was equally underwhelming. It took over 15 minutes for a server to even acknowledge me, and it was another 30 minutes before my food arrived. For a hotel of this caliber, the lack of timely and attentive service was surprising and truly detracted from the experience. Another point of frustration was the in-room entertainment. While the room had a smart TV, it was not connected to the internet. The network settings were blocked, leaving guests at the mercy of an outdated DirecTV service. The TVs also lacked a sleep timer, which was a disappointing and inconvenient detail. While this hotel holds a special charm, these instances of chauvinism, poor service, and outdated amenities were significant enough to make me question whether I would stay again
