Casa Azul is a prime location ground floor 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, air conditioned apartment within a secure gated swimming pool area on a quiet residential road. Why is our apartment different? We have large rooms, a fabulous location, all day sun, a kitchen with everything you need, a dishwasher, free Wifi, air con in all rooms, beach towels, washing powder and a Smart TV along with over 100 British TV channels. Just read our reviews and you will see the word "location" mentioned over and over - Our small complex, Playa 1, is superbly located, and our apartment was the show apartment for the complex, chosen due to the large terraces extending your living accommodation, privacy and the best end of the pool for both space outside the apartment and all day sun. Just 7 minutes' walk from the blue flag sandy beaches of the Mar Menor, the front of the apartment looks over palm tree parkland, and the rear terrace backs directly onto a large pool with a separate children's pool, making it ideal for sipping a cold glass of wine while keeping an eye on the children. Shops and dozens of restaurants are just a few minutes walk away and the nearest golf course is 2 kilometres. Our apartment is a real home from home, with every detail thought of (hopefully!), the little things to make your stay wonderful, a 43" HD Smart TV with 150 British TV and Radio Channels, with the ability to use your Netflix or Amazon Prime account, a Bluetooth speaker to connect to your music, and a dishwasher and washing machine to make your holiday just that little bit easier. The kitchen has granite work surfaces, and both bathrooms have modern, walk in showers. We provide washing powder, dishwasher powder, kitchen basic ingredients and condiments as well as beach towels to save space in your cases. We have free unlimited Wifi for you to use, and there is air conditioning/heating in the main living area and both bedrooms. High quality glass artwork and photography is used throughout the apartment, giving a luxurious feel. Our apartment has terraces at the front and rear, meaning you get the sun all through the day, from breakfast in the front conservatory or front terrace, which can then be used for a little shade in the afternoon, and the rear terrace which gets the sun from lunchtime until the sun sets. An awning across the rear terrace ensures shade in the hot afternoons if you require it - fabulous for lunches in July and August. A Weber bar-be-que is provided for your year round use. The bedrooms in the apartment are both a very good size, with double built in wardrobes. The king sized bed in the main bedroom has a mattress topper, and there is an air conditioning unit in that room too, plus the en-suite has a very large walk in shower with dual head. Bedroom 1 is quiet and is at the rear of the property and bedroom 2 is quiet also, looking over the palm tree park at the front of the property. One of the reasons we fell in love with our apartment is that it is situated in an ideal location for whatever you want from your holiday. Stroll across the park to the left and you reach the vibrant main square where there are many bars, restaurants and opportunities to sample cuisine from around the world, from Spanish Tapas and Mexican, to Indian and British. Turn right out of the apartment and you head towards the historic old town, passing streets with Spanish children playing out, and Spanish families enjoying the summer evenings. Tapas a plenty is available in many of the restaurants in this quieter area, again only 10-15 minutes' walk. Whichever direction you take, you are only ever a short stroll (around 7 minutes of flat walking) to the beaches and beach bars along the colourful promenade, and there are a number of large supermarkets with everything you need, including fabulous fresh fish counters and a wonderful selection of wines, within 10 minutes walking from the apartment. Car hire is not needed in Los Alcázares due to the close proximity of all the amenities, but if you did want to explore the historic areas of Murcia and Cartagena, car hire would be recommended. We have a space for your use right outside the apartment. Also a trip into the mountains around an hour away is worthwhile. We are happy to recommend trustworthy car rental companies. The Mar Menor is a Salt Water Lagoon, of around 128 sq km. Shallow, safe and warm, the sea on average is 5 degrees warmer than the Mediterranean. The mineral rich water is said to have healing properties, and as such is listed by the World Health Organisation as one of the healthiest places on earth. Los Alcázares (pronounced Los Al-Katha-Res) has some of the best beaches in the Murcian region; many of them have been awarded "Blue Flag Status" from the Spanish Tourist board based on their cleanliness, safety and atmosphere. With 7 km of flat wide promenade, and wide open beaches, it is only at the very height of the season that it gets more crowded, and even then, walking an extra 10 minutes will take you to quieter areas. The apartment is just 25 minutes from The new Region de Murcia Airport (Corvera). It is around 50 minutes from Alicante Airport. For children, buckets and spades, floats, pool toys and games all in the apartment ready for them to use. For the adults we have provided beach towels, beach chairs, an umbrella for the beach, cool box and ice packs for you to use, so you can really make the most of the area.
