The property was well furnished and clean. Heating was good as the week was pretty cold and rather damp. We were troubled by fleas jumping around on the sofas and finding them on kitchen surfaces. We complained to the housekeeper who told us they couldn't be fleas because we had not been bitten. Because of the cold we were very well covered---long trousers, socks etc. Later in the week I was bitten on my ankles because I was wearing shorter trousers. We also found lavatory bushes in filthy holders in both bathrooms. Each new client should be supplied with new brushes, after all they are cheap enough. The TV in the living area is not very comfortable to watch as it is high up on the wall. In view of the wet weather and the need to wear kagoules etc we would have liked some provision for hanging wet clothing on entering the property. We were obliged to drip all over the carpeted area on our way to hang sodden clothing in the bathrooms. The housekeeper , Michelle, told us that she would inform Marsdens about our complaint. All I have received on my email from them is suggestions that I book another property with them. It is very unlikely that I will ever do so.

Beautiful apartment with stunning views
Beautiful apartment with stunning views
Clean, well equipped with spacious bedrooms. We really enjoyed our stay. The views of the sea are spectacular and the position is very close to shops and restaurants, as well as some beautiful walks and trips out. We even had a surprise visit from the easter bunny which was a lovely treat!!!

We rented The Orangery for a few nights over New Years Eve. The directions were immaculate though we had followed our Google Maps which were identical. Easy parking, though the Orangery does have a few steps up to it (no problem for us). Everything was clean and well laid out for us and the quality of the facilities pretty good. Bed linen is very good - crisp clean sheets and good towels (2 per person) and the beds were comfortable (especially the twin beds made up into the Super King). There are plenty of sockets and mirrors which are very useful and everything was laid out well. The only criticism would be that there is enough room in the shower room to put a table or cabinet as there wasn’t really anywhere to lay out toiletries. The living area was very spacious as was the open plan kitchen. All crockery and cookware was very good quality. I brought some items with me to cook as I often rent places that don’t provide enough but it wasn’t necessary to really use what I brought as there was everything that you need. I would say that if you want views all day long, then perhaps one of the company’s other apartments in the complex that overlook the sea might be better as the views are mainly from the bedrooms (but it doesn’t detract from the place in my opinion). The only thing I would say is that in winter, it takes some getting used to the radiators. Once in full flow, it is warm enough but getting them up to speed and then retaining the temperature did prove a bit tricky and I was cold at night. Lastly, a few more instructions on finding the WiFi code and what to do with rubbish on departure etc would have been useful. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Great for walkers, and fantastic proximity to Lynton itself (a few paces from the door!)
