Second stay for me at this hotel in Macon on my way south to the Alps. Convenient location in town, secure parking with good access to restaurants.

The extended construction at the back of the hotel had a sun terrace.
We booked based on a twin room and parking being available and were informed that we could have neither on the morning of check-in with no time to make changes. They offered an upgrade - for more money - to a twin instead of a double in a nicer part of the hotel, but we declined and kept the double as it was just one night and we were on a budget. They seemed miffed about it. The double ended up being two singles made into a double, so we asked for an extra sheet to remake them into two beds. They were displeased at the suggestion saying they didn't have housekeeping to arrange that. We were happy to do it ourselves and reluctantly they gave us an extra sheet. When we checked out a different person asked if our stay was okay and I said it was fine. He said, 'good, because I heard about your problems'. This made us feel like WE had been the problems, not their lack of availability of what we'd booked and not helping us feel welcome or more comfortable with the downgrade, which was still expensive for the quality of the room. It's also worth noting that many rooms are on an extension at the back of the hotel with small windows and not much natural light and the fire doors connecting to the main building slam loudly when other guests are up for breakfast.
