Quirky and unique. Rooms were large in comparison to other accommodation in Japan. Nice lounge area where Yoshi our host sang traditional Japanese songs every evening at 10 pm
A bit far out of town. Too far to walk and no shuttle service, but quick and relatively cheap taxi ride to get into town. Rooms were a dated and tired but clean and well appointed.

The owner, Yoshi, was very helpful and welcoming. We really enjoyed the onsen and sauna, the jacuzzi looked good but we didn't get a chance to use it. Breakfast was really good! Lots of home grown produce used, bread rolls to die for and filled us up for the day ahead. We had a view of Mount Fuji from our window which was amazing. Location is good if you have a car.
I would recommend hiring a car if staying here, it's worth it anyway to get around the mountain.

We really felt like this place was a hidden gem, it’s tucked away from the main streets but is only a 10 minute walk to the bus stop or has bikes available to hire at a nearby hotel. The owner was such a lovely man, very welcoming and you can tell he has a genuine care for his guests! The musical evenings are well worth staying up for, he is an incredible singer and I would definitely recommend trying the homemade sake.
It wasn’t a dislike, but the property is in a semi-rural area of Kawaguchiko. We liked this as you were off the beaten path and within tranquility, but some people may want to be closer to the town.
We found you can walk to the nearest restaurant and 7eleven in 15 minutes so didn’t mind
