About this house rental
Nestled in Bacliff, this lovely house for $201 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. This beautiful cottage is the perfect place to bring your family or a fun group of friends. We are on Galveston Bay and our unique property offers 150' of waterfront with a 270' fishing pier, pool, spa, numerous Palapas along the waterfront and lots of common areas for sitting and grilling and enjoying our outstanding views of Kemah and the Galveston Bay. We have one Suite that is Waterfront and that is The Bay Room. Our other Cottages are set off of the water about 150" but have full access to all of our amenities and lots of waterfront sitting areas. This cottage will sleep up to 8 people comfortably. Two of the bedrooms are private with an additional queen bed over twin trundle bed in the living room. The kitchen and bathroom are very large and fully stocked with all the amenities and cooking utensils/appliances you could ever need. All Linens and towels are provided as well as basic cooking spices, coffee, sugar, creamers, etc. This cottage has a private deck and grilling area but all common areas are available for use. Grills are also provided at no additional charge. Special items can be added upon request. We are 20 miles south of Houston on I-45 South, 4 miles from the famous Kemah Boardwalk, 10 minutes from NASA/Johnson Space Center, 15 minutes from Baybrook Mall, 10 miles from the Texas City Outlet Mall and only 20 minutes from Galveston. There are many terrific restaurants near us and some you can get to on the golf carts we provide for your use while staying with us.

Our little house was decorated so cute but that was only part of the deal. It was very clean and the host was so sweet! We are enjoyed the whole property. Very serene and relaxing. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy the ocean. We were close to many restaurants and entertainment. We will be back for sure! I highly recommend!!!

Think wonderful and then add some more. We honestly did not want to leave and have already planning on heading back to the cottages next time we visit our family in Houston. We hit NASA and some museums, but the best part of the entire week was just relaxing on the dock!

The saltwater Gypsy was perfect for our getaway. Very quiet and fishing off the pier was awesome. We even used DoorDash to get food delivered. Definitely will be staying here again. The hosts were fantastic at recommending restaurants and gave us a heads up for which ones were social distancing and not.

I had some friends join me from Michigan and I wasn’t disappointed. The management has done a fine job trying to provide a pleasant atmosphere and the fact that they add so many comforts of home just made it that much more appealing.

Galveston Trip
My family made a short weekend trip to visit the beach and Pleasure Pier in Galveston. We stayed in the Saltwater Gypsy Cottage and it was wonderful. It was a great size for our family of 8. Everything was well maintained. My kids loved the fishing pier and having poles available to borrow was very convenient. Pat and her family are very friendly and willing to offer whatever information and recommendations you might need. The drive to Galveston only took about 20 minutes and Kemah is nearby as well. Both H-E-B and Walmart are close by. We would absolutely stay here if we make a repeat trip to the area.

Adorable safe community and cottage
We loved our time at Come Friday Cottages and the Saltwater Gypsy. It was close to Kemah, Food, attractions, Galveston and NASA. Quaint and quiet and just the right size for the three of us. Plus reserved parking right in front. My family loves fishing so we loved each night winding down on the dock and fishing. Everyone staying around us waved and visited and welcomed us, even invited us to their crab boil. It just felt like old times when you were growing up and everyone talks to their neighbors. Already planning our next trip back. Also the mattresses were extremely comfortable I don’t know what kind they were but they were amazing. Best sleep each night. Thank You! For such great hospitality

Salt Water Gypsy
This hidden gem was amazing! Our family had a great time and we definitely will be back. The amenities this place had were fantastic and unexpected. I would have expected to pay more given the short notice of booking and it being 4th of July but it was not! Spacious and inviting, it felt like we were home. A family run business but it felt like we were old friends. This is definitely a place we will return to for years to come!

Spring Break Vacation
Everyone had a great time on vacation at Saltwater Gypsy Cottage. The kids loved fishing off the pier and catching fish and stingrays! The cottage was darling, so homey it felt like staying with grandma. The hot tub really helped with sore muscles after a day of sighseeing too! The fire pit was a big hit with everyone. Making smores & eating them around the fire pit is a memory we won't soon forget. Thanks for the information on local restaurants, we ate like royalty! Thanks for a great vacation- The Allman Clan

Amazing hidden jem w AWESOME owners!
My two teenage daughters and my two dogs were trying to plan a short getaway to Galveston. Unfortunately, we could find neither campsites nor short term rentals that allowed two dogs. I remembered Kemah (from a previous bus trip) as a cute town with a boardwalk/pier, so I searched the area and found this amazingly cute collection of cottages.
We were looking for a place that not only would accommodate dogs over 25#’s but had a hot tub, waterfront access/view, could have a campfire, outdoor grill as well as a sand beach ( The sand beach is actually about 5 miles away, small but very private and very low-key ). There was NOTHING in Galveston that fit this bill that was under $600 a night. Not only did the “Saltwater Gypsy” have all of these things, the owners are amazingly friendly and super helpful too - bonus!
They are veteran as well as return customer friendly and we will absolutely be back! My girls loved it, the dogs acted like they were in dog heaven and it was an absolute opportunity for me to recharge my batteries as well. Thank you so much for the lovely experience - we will def be returning this Summer!!!

We stayed in the Saltwater Gypsy cabin, it was so cute and had the most comfortable beds! Well stocked, amazing grounds, pool, waterfront, pier. We will be back!

Charming cottage
The owners are the real gem behind the charming cottage. They were so sweet to us and made our visit extra kid-friendly with s'mores at the fire pit outside and by lending out fishing and crabbing equipment to keep them entertained. We spent a fun day at Kemah and the next at Nasa. It is a great, spot on the bay close to great attractions. The Topwater restaurant they recommended was fabulous. We had a really fun long weekend getaway.

Evacuees from Florida, hurricane Michael, we rented this place online sight unseen. This place is off the beaten path of everyday hustle & bustle, quiet and quaint! Owners are on site and they make sure that your needs are met. If you are looking for a place to relax than look no further. We will definitely be back!
