This apartment is very well located and equipped, and very clean. The beds were comfortable. The owners have installed good windows which keep out sound, and blackout curtains to keep out the light if you need to sleep. However, you can also have a lovely breeze going through with the windows on both sides of the apt. when open. The terrace is a wonderful bonus, looking out to the sea. We also enjoyed the mountain views from the bedrooms, which change daily. The thoughtful welcome treats and extras were much appreciated. We hope to return.

Location very central in the old town. View from the balcony phantastic. Owner very friendly und support all the time. Unfortunately the location in the Santa Maria street (old town) is quite noisy- motorbikes all the night on one side and restaurant on the other side. If you are sensitive regarding noise it‘s not recommendable, if noise is not a problem for you the appartment is great, promenade, restaurants, cable car, etc. in short walking distance.

Apartment is at the quiet end of old town.
It has a street and apartment entrance with a flight of stairs to second level.
Quiet neighbors as well with a lovely deck overlooking an old fort/ restaurant and the sea facing south so lots of sun all day.
Kitchen and apartment are spotless, bathroom has a double shower heads and a very comfortable bed.
The deck has dining table with 4 chairs, swing chair and two loungers, we lived out there every night!
Host provided lanterns with candles, tea lights, blankets and a cozy outdoor rug to stargaze or yoga! There are many restaurants right around the corner one that will serenade you with instrumental music… How perfect.
Huge bowl of fruit, avacodo sand a beautiful bouquet of flowers were left for us, she made our stay very special.
It really was very homey and we looked forward to returning each evening.
She even has grocery cart on wheels for the market or your shopping.
The thoughtful host did not miss any details.
It was a fabulous experience and one of the best after traveling for 3 months through Spain and Portugal. Madeira wins!!

This place was minutes away from all the good restaurants in Old Town. It was spotlessly clean and had great views out to the sea.
Lina, our host met us at the apartment and explained everything to us and recommended certain restaurants.
We will hopefully return.

Lina ist sehr freundlich und jederzeit per Phone oder WhatsApp erreichbar. Saubere Wohnung ideal für zwei Leute auch mit einem Kind . Der Balkon ist ein Traum. Restaurants unzählige in der Nähe. Also eine klare Empfehlung von uns.....

This is my first visit to Funchal, and staying here was perfect. The space is well laid out, the balcony offers one of the best views of the harbor, and Lina and her husband are perfect hosts. I spent mornings practicing yoga on the balcony and evenings watching the sunset over the fortress. My husband and I did have to do some work during our stay 🙁 I can’t complain since we were able to go for a swim or just chill out on the balcony inbetween conference calls. We hope to come back again soon ☺️ Look no further if you are also looking for a relaxing place to escape to for a week or a month.

Very nice apartment
We had two very good weeks in this apartment with a balcony overlooking the fort, sea and the cruiseships coming and going. We had a very warm welcome from the host. The apartment was clean, beds had good madresses and was fully equipped with all we could need and more. We give this apartment our best recommondations.

Sonnenaufgang am Atlantik
Tolle Lage des Appartments: In der Altstadt gelegen, d. h. zentral, aber in einiger Entfernung zum Trubel; Bushaltestellen, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Restaurants etc. sind gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Der Blick vom Balkon auf den Atlantik ist einfach schön, man kann dort wunderbar entspannen, auch am Abend wenn Piano-Musik aus der St. Tiago-Festung herüberklingt oder am Morgen den Sonnenaufgang erleben. Das Apartment selbst ist liebevoll eingerichtet, wir haben uns dort sofort wohl gefühlt. Der Empfang war sehr gastfreundlich, mit frischem Obst usw. Wenn wir wieder nach Madeira kommen, dann sehr gerne wieder in dieses Apartment! Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt dort!

Best place to be
Die Wohnung liegt in einem kleinen, gepflegten Haus in der Altstadt, ist sehr geschmackvoll in schönen Farben eingerichtet und mit allem Notwendigen und Nützlichen prima ausgestattet. Von der großen Terrasse, die wie die Wohnung sehr ansprechend gestaltet und möbliert ist, hatten wir einen phantastischen Blick auf das alte Fort, das Meer, den Hafen und die Bucht von Funchal. Zu all dem trafen wir mit Lina und ihrem Mann auf sehr sympathische und hilfsbereite Vermieter, die uns noch dazu mit einer großen Obstschale und Getränken empfingen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Hier stimmte einfach alles! Muito obrigada, Lina!

We loved every moment - due to the wonderful balcony overlooking the sea.
We spent every possible moment outside on this wonderful balcony and enjoyed being in Madeira.
The apartment provides everything that you need and is perfectly clean.
Lina is a darling and welcomed us with a beautiful basket full of fresh fruits, bred etc.
Would come back in a heartbeat - muito Obrigado to Lina and all the wonderful people in Madeira.

This was our third visit to Madeira and the best so far. This was partly because the apartment we stayed in was ideal for us. It was well-designed and decorated, very well equipped, with a beautiful balcony and a stunning view over the São Tiago fort, the sea beyond, and across to the cruise ship harbour. The location at the end of the old town was perfect with a large number (and, to some extent, variety) of restaurants close by and only a short, mainly flat, walk to the cable car station and to the centre of Funchal.
The early part of our week was overcast and cool, but we didn’t mind because we found plenty to do, and the apartment was always nice to come “home” to. Later in the week, we really enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the hot sun watching the passing people and boats.
Lina the property owner, and her husband, are very nice people, and were responsive to enquiries and messages via the HomeAway App, throughout the booking process and stay. She met us upon arrival, and we appreciated a number of nice touches to welcome us. We had a very minor issue early on which was speedily resolved; it seemed nothing would be too much trouble.
The only slight downside to our stay was that as a “young” (but actually middle-aged) couple we did not find anywhere to go for a drink with any life in it after about 11pm. Perhaps this was because of the time of year. But we enjoyed looking at the night-time view of sea and stars from the balcony instead.
Highly recommended, and we will go again. Our thanks to the thoughtful owner.

Lina was brilliant offering to pick up and drop us off at the airport and, when we had a couple of problems re the storms was very quick to respond and sort out any issues we had. The bed was very comfortable and everything we needed was catered for. If you want a cozy apartment in the middle of Old Town with great views of the ocean, harbour & Marina this is ideal.

Fantastic apartment - close to fine restaurants.
The apartment is absolutely perfect and very well equipped. The balcony is large with very comfortable seating, table and chairs and the view is fabulous.
Breakfast on the balcony watching the cruise ships arrive was interesting and departing in the evening with our G & T was memorable. Within a two minute walk are many restaurants, most of them busy although January is a quiet time for them. A small supermarket is a five minute walk away, with a larger one ten minutes away. The main supermarkets in town are only a quarter of an hours walk, as are the main shopping streets of Funchal.
The owner of the apartment, Lina, was delightful and there was fruit and pastries waiting for us when we arrived. Lina was very helpful, particularly when we had a medical issue and needed to see a doctor. She contacted her own doctor and we received advice from him, via Lina. The apartment was immaculately clean and very well presented. The firm kingsize bed was really comfortable. For those visitors wishing to cater for themselves there is a well equipped kitchen with everything you are likely to need.
We will certainly return!

Wonderful apartment
Fantastic location in the old town. Close to restaurants, shops and attractions plus a nice prom to walk along if you don't want to venture too far. Wonderful view from balcony, so nice to sit and watch the world go by after a day out. The sun is on the balcony from about 10.30 until sundown.The apartment was scrupulously clean and welcoming and had everything needed for an enjoyable holiday. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful stay along the coast!
Our stay in Funchal was great. Lina was super helpful and accommodating. We got delayed with our luggage at the airport and she had no problem meeting us later than expected to give us the keys, detailed recommendations in the area, and even had a fresh bowl of local fruits waiting for us!! The location was perfect right in the midst of delicious restaurants, bars, the tram and bus station. The sea views were also incredible. The balcony had a breakfast table, comfy chairs and candles- a romantic setting for any time of the day or night. Very clean, quaint apartment with good wifi and washer to fit all of our needs.

Perfect!
We had a lovely christmas at the apartment and in Madeira. I don't think we could have picked a better location. A fantastic view from the balcony watching all the cruise ships come and go. Lina was very helpful and friendly and everything was very comfortable. If you are thinking of booking, just do it, as its a really special place. Funchal is magical at christmas time with all the local celebrations and twinkling lights. We had a lovely stay - Obrigado!

Like right out of a postcard
What a wounderful place in the beautiful city
We arrived rather late in the evening at the airport, got our car and then were already awaited by Lina at the appartment with keys, a tour through the place and directions to park our car (3 min walk an 3€ per day). Top notch at being a host!
Cot for the baby was already set up, highchair in the kitchen, we even got a baby-carry-backpack and, as we had one day of rain coming ahead, found an umbrella next morning leaning at the front door. Perfect place to stay for a family vacation.
The appartment is situated right behind the "yellow-fort" at the waterfront, that we even saw on a couple of postcards. Perfect view of the endless ocean from the balcony. Just sitting outside in the evening and watching the hughe cruise ships leave the island again, while we were able to stay!
2 min walk to the waterfront, 3 min to the next bakery and nearby to all tourist attractions. Been there one and a half week and we would have loved to stay even longer.
