Nestled in Prince Edward County, this charming house for $273 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. The best of both worlds; minutes from Charlottetown, this Net Zero home is surrounded by water and country atmosphere. Rated 4.5 Star Canada Select, grand windows and spectacular surrounding views of water, countryside and wildlife protected areas make this Steven Fuller designed home eye opening and unique. With dark mahogany throughout, a two way fireplace, air conditioning, granite counter tops, and custom solid cabinets create a welcoming kitchen which offers a island to pull up and eat or cook at. The spacious master bed room offer water views from the bed and the ensuite jacuzzi tub, full tile surround shower, his and her walk in closet, and private access to deck. The living room is highlighted by a fireplace and a walkout to the deck through the custom ceiling to roof and wall to wall arched windows. The dining room offers comfortable seating for 6-8 at the solid wood footed table surrounded by book shelves and lighted by chandelier. The two additional bedrooms are cozy and spacious, each with ample closet space and access to a full equipped bathroom. The finished basement offers a place to relax and kick back, with a 60 inch flat screen, spacious sectional, and large windows drawing in natural light supporting the numerous pot lights embedded in the white washed pine ceiling. The basement also offers a large carpeted toy room for the children to play. The large railed back deck offers a great space to enjoy the views, BBQ or access the large backyard with private access to water, fire pit, and beach. The home, which offers a two car garage and interlocking brick walk is set back off the road on 1.7 acres of land situated in the quaint community of Mermaid which is only 7 minutes drive to the Capitol city of PEI, Charlottetown with its historic waterfront, fine dining, markets, cultural activities, and the Charlottetown event grounds. The property was perfect for our family’s needs. Everyone had their own space, and we were able to cook meals for times when we weren’t going out. Quick and easy access to Charlottetown but very quiet and secluded.

We had a wonderful experience at this property. Angie and Dylan were wonderful hosts and the house was perfect for my husband, daughter and myself. It’s as beautiful as the pictures depicted and so close to the beach. I would rent this one again!

Mermaid Beach House is a beautiful property with the most amazing views of open marshes and the sea - we saw Herons fishing, so many birds and it was the perfect start and end to our day sitting out on the deck - absolutely stunning views and one of the quietest places to stay in a lovely neighborhood. Also so close to Charlotte town and surrounding areas - our Hosts left a pass to the Provincial Parks to enjoy and we used it every day. Would highly recommend - the photographs absolutely do not do justice to the open indoor space and there was absolutely everything our family needed for our stay - if you have children there is a whole playroom for them to enjoy. Angie and Dylan were the perfect hosts and responded to all our questions promptly. Yes, there are mosquitos in the marshes, grass and we were not able to walk down to the sea for this reason but our Hosts offered to come and spray to help with this. We were prepared due to other reviews and just took spray and bug zappers. We were able to sit on the deck without being affected at all. Just a stunning place and highly recommend no question.

Our family rented this wonderful home as we visited the island. The home had plenty of room to have additional family stop in and visit without making the place feel over crowded. The home was in a nice and quiet neighbourhood where we took our son for a walk nearly every morning.

Loved the views! House was well laid out for a bigger group of guests but even a small group of two was great to have room to spread out. Owners were very responsive and supplied everything you could hope for! The toy room was a bonus abd made the stay very exciting fir my toddler. Highly recommend.
Do suggest having a car. Mosquitos were killer but expect that was due to time of the year and that are used to city living :).

Mermaid Beach House - Super!!
This house has a spectacular view, is very close to Charlottetown and is immaculate inside. The owners were friendly and extremely helpful - the best owners we’ve had out of all of our VRBO vacation rentals! We HIGHLY recommend this rental!!! Beautiful!

Such a pleasure!
In this beautiful house, with its beautiful view, you feel like you never stop enjoying your vacation. We loved watching the birds — so many varieties— bring your binoculars! And we thoroughly enjoyed spending time in many different parts of PEI. The beaches are all distinct and we enjoyed the spectacular national Parks.. Angie was a wonderful hostess and checked in during our stay. She also left many supplies for our use— which was very helpful.

My family and I wanted to visit PEI and started our search on VRBO and this beautiful location came up. We were even more excited as it was free the week we were looking for. The reservation was quick and easy and received the confirmation within 10 mins. I wrote to Angie with some questions u had. She was very quick to reply and provided me with even more information on places we can visit, eat, find local fish markets. Angie proactively reached out to me a few weeks before our trip to provide directions to the house, how to obtain the keys and provided clear directions to the local grocery store, pharmacy etc.. This was really appreciated as it was something on my list to do. She also offered me tickets for my kids to go kayaking near by as that was something they wanted to do. When we got there the house was just like what you see on the website. It was so beautiful and clean and so many windows that brought in much light. They had many board games, a big basement and have so many toys for small children as well. Angie also had a good variety of pots/appliances/cleaning products. Angie reached out to me on the first day of our visit to ask if we noticed many mosquitoes around. As there were many she immediately took care of it and sent a company over to spray the grounds with an environmentally friendly liquid. Angie and Dylan were very friendly, helpful and so nice to me and my family. They reached out mid week to see if we needed anything. Overall our stay was amazing the kids, my husband and I just loved our experience. Thank you so much Angie and Dylan for your hospitality. You guys are awesome 🤩

Lots of good, a few things to note
We had a great week at this property! The house and amenities were great, my kids really enjoyed the basement playroom, and we really appreciated it being dog friendly. The hosts were very easy to deal with, and the proximity to Charlottetown was so convenient !
A few things to note:
1) So. Many. Mosquitoes! I understand it was a bad year in general for mosquitos in PEI, but we found them significantly worse at the house than other places we visited on the island (marshy type area in front likely the culprit), and very disruptive to our enjoyment of the property...could not sit out on the deck or throw a ball in the backyard for even a few minutes without many many bites...could not even make it from the car to the front door without being swarmed. Unfortunate for sure, as the outdoor space is lovely.
2) The beach in front of the property was really not a beach....even at low tide, when there is some exposed red sand, there were so many oyster/mussel shells on the beach that there was really no practical way to have the kids or dog play on the beach. In fact, before we realized how sharp they were we all got cuts on our feet while trying to walk.
All of the above to say, if you are looking for a lovely house with serene views, great hosts and a very convenient location for Charlottetown, this is a great choice! If you are hoping for more of a PEI "cottage" experience, then I would suggest another rental.

House was beautiful...clean and with lovely bedding and good quality furnishings. Kitchen was stocked with all dishes, cutlery and cookware needed. The deck was fabulous...enjoyed many early morning coffees out there. Angie was kind and flexible. Would highly recommend.

Amazing family-friendly PEI home
We booked this property with very short notice. Angie was amazing at responding quickly and was very helpful in making recommendations for restaurants and activities.
We were a group of 4 adults with 2 children. The layout of the house worked very well. It was clean and extremely well equipped with beach toys, inside toys, chairs and a pack n play. Things were exactly as the pictures showed.
The location was very good. A car is a must but it was only a 10 minute drive to grocery stores and the many restaurants and waterfront in Charlottetown.
Overall we had a fantastic stay and hope to return again soon!

We had a wonderful stay at the Mermaid Beach House! The house was SPOTLESS! The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing. Our kids went crazy for the play room and the toy jeep! Thank you for a wonderful PEI experience!

Family Vacation in Paradise
Our entire family fell in love with Angie’s place. Her home is modern, clean, and perfect for entertaining in. The view was stunning and the water warm and inviting. We particularly loved the changing views of the beach and loved playing bocce ball at low tide. Just don’t forget your bug spray. Easy access to Charlottetown and close to a well stocked No Frills. Angie was quick to respond and wanted to ensure we enjoyed her home as much as she did. Highly recommend this home. Would definitely stay there again.

Family Getaway
We had an amazing week in PEI. Angie was a dynamite host and the house met all of our needs. The toy room was a huge bonus for our kids and the location was a great launching off point for exploring the island. The split bedroom layout of the home was ideal for a three generation vacation. We will be back!

Heaven
This gorgeous home is exactly as described online. It is a large, spacious, 3 bedroom home located on a red sand beach, 10 minutes outside of Charlottetown, in lovely Mermaid. The home is well maintained and boasts a huge property with ample room for children to play. The home had all amenities, including a Jacuzzi tub in the on suite bathroom off of the master bedroom. The home owners were available by text anytime. We were so impressed by this home, we were sad to leave. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy Island life.

Minutes from Charlottetown was worth a second stay!
We stayed at this property two years ago and enjoyed it so much that we re-booked it for another P.E.I. vacation this summer.
As with our previous experience, the homeowners were terrific to deal with. Communication was clear, efficient, and courteous. They went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed for our time on the island and our stay in their home. Their thoughtfulness extended to ensuring we were provided with ample information about local events, sightseeing opportunities, and area attractions and Angie was readily available to answer any questions that arose.
The home itself was beautiful and well equipped with everything we needed. The neighbourhood is quiet but friendly and the location is ideal for making the most out of your time in P.E.I.
We highly recommend this property to anyone planning a stay on the island and look forward to returning again in the future. Thank you Angie and family for sharing your home and making us feel so welcome!
