Great location. Ahmed and his family were very warm and hospitable. Close to hiking trails, Ahmed also volunteered to take us up some of the trails. Grocery store with a few min walk. We used the BBQ area one of the nights for cooking dinner, and my daughter loved the experience. Highly recommend this place

Depending on time of year, there may be mosquitos out. Bring repellent to be prepared.

Canyon Rest House is a beautiful house in the traditional Omani style. Very simple, and also very comfortable and owner, Ahmed, could not have been kinder or more helpful. We loved the peace and quiet, and the location is spectacular, walking distance to the Grand Canyon and its fabulous views. In the evening, Ahmed lit a fire for us in the fire pit and we enjoyed fire gazing in this beautifully tranquil spot. Ahmed also brought us the most delicious figs and pomegranates from his own trees. A beautiful place to unplug and unwind.
