Brilliant host, super clean, great breakfast

Great place !

Breakfast was very good indeed. Lovely home cooked fresh food. Plenty of options too if we asked for changes. Lots of extra little touches in our room, and the owner was very helpful and informative about the local area and facilities. The bed was comfortable and the room had space for all our stuff as well as plenty of sockets.

Great

Lesley is very nice and accommodating, she is ready to offer a variety of recommendations around Worcester or just share an interesting story. The property is only a 10-minute walk from the city centre and there is a small shop nearby for late-night snacks. I also liked that there is a small fridge and a microwave available to guests so I didn't have to eat out every night. Lesley is well experienced in dealing with dietary requirements so there were no issues with having vegan options for breakfast (I had a veggie sausage, tomatoes, beans, hash browns and toast). A nice touch was coffee which was brewed in a cafetiere rather than instant. Another small touch which I particularly enjoyed was that there is a desk and a big table mirror facing the window which meant I could lay out my make up on the table in front of me and have even lighting (in most hotels I have to hold my make up while I do in a tiny mirror in the bathroom). I would wholeheartedly recommend this place.

I had very slow internet until I realised there is a separate wifi extension on my (top) floor to which I should have connected. After I connected to the extension, the internet was fast and I had no issues

Exactly what I was looking for.

The host was friendly and welcoming and my room was very clean and comfortable. I had everything I needed and the Wifi worked great too. Plenty of places nearby to get food etc and the breakfast was really good. Will definitely stay again when I travel to Worcester for work in the future.

Friendly hostelry, close to town.

Great place just north of town. A set of pubs and eateries are within walking distance for evening meals including a wholly vegan eatery. Good friendly service at breakfast from our host. Enjoyable stay and will hope to return now we have found this spot.

Creaky bathroom door was unfortunate. Note that there is no lift if you are in rooms 5 or 6. The choice at breakfast was too big, no, seriously, you can be accommodated!

Wonderful stay in Worcester

Room was amazing and bed very comfortable. Room had everything you needed and more...fan, many mirrors and bathroom box with earplugs, Cotton pads etc

Exceptional

We really enjoyed our stay here. Lesley was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was amazing. Just a five minute walk and you are in the city Centre. I would recommend and stay here on our next visit.

Lovely host at a comfortable property

Lesley is an outstanding host. Friendly, available, and accommodating but also respects guests' space and privacy. The room was comfortable, spacious, and clean. The full breakfast was delicious! Great location within easy walking of shops, pubs, and transportation.

Although a fan was provided and windows could be opened, the upstairs room was quite warm (no air conditioning) during my stay (high temp about 80-84F/27-28C

Very enjoyable and lots to see and do in the city

Lovely breakfast, Leslie was very hospitable asking if everything was ok. Lovely room. Only 5- 10 minutes walk to city centre. Leslie also gave me free parking just round the corner.

Great stay at The Shrubbery

Very nice room & facilities. Excellent breakfast & on street parking with permit included. Around a mile from the city centre & easily walkable with the option of walking along the canal towpath. Our host was very welcoming & helpful throughout our stay.

Lovely B&B with a lovely host.

Friendly welcome on arrival, Lesley host was helpful with our travel arrangements to a wedding venue and throughout our stay nothing was too much trouble. Lovely spacious modern en suite room with everything we needed. Superb breakfast. Short walk from the train station, excellent location. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Great for a short stay if you don't mind being a little outside the centre

Breakfast was well-cooked and we could hardly fault it. Lesley prompty fixed some very minor niggles we had with the room.

Don't particularly like having to choose time and what we want to eat for breakfast the night before.

I had enjoyed Worcester and my stay at the Shrubbery

paying 40£ a night for a BB with breakfast is fantastic value for money. The room was clean and had the usual selection of hot drinks plus quality biscuits. The staff and Breakfast were lovely. Thank you

Great value at superior b&b.

Spotlessly clean, newly decorated, everything in great order and very good shower. Lesley is very friendly and welcoming, there's plenty of choice for breakfast and it's a simple 10 min walk into the centre. My room was at the back and really quiet.

Great location

Great location just a short walk from the city centre, Nearest rail station is Foregate Street just down the road. Very clean accommodation with a great breakfast. Lesley is a lovely host

Room is very clean and location is quite central

Owner is very welcoming and ready to help. Room was extremely clean and cosy. Although i found it a bit small for 3 persons and very little wardrobe space . Breakfast was fresh and served nice and warm.

The double bed was a bit uncomfortable unfortunately.

Better than expected in every regard

The breakfasts were cooked to order where fresh produce was used. Food was placed in front of you with a smile and you were always asked in you required anything else.

Cannot think of anything that we didnt like.

The room was clean and comfortable with an en suite shower room. We were able to come and go as we pleased, which was good

It would have been nice to have chosen breakfast from a buffet type display rather than order from a list, but I understood the reason for the change (COVID). It meant I had to pick breakfast for someone else, and hope that was ok.

Friendly host, fantastic breakfast, free parking was a little complicated but perfectly possible and our host was very helpful. Wifi was good, little shop down the road, easy 20 minute walk to town centre.

Great location. Very comfortable with great breakfast and attentive host. Great communication from booking onwards and throughout my stay. very comfortable bed. en-suite shower room with good quality toiletries provided including ear plugs. Parking permit arranged by host with no hassle to allow parking near BnB. Delicious breakfast - ordered the night before - freshly cooked served when required. I will not hesitate booking The Shrubbery if in the area again.

Water pressure in the shower was low but water was plentiful and hot.

there were a variety food for breakfast; location is close enough to the city center and very safe; there is a little grocery store 5 minutes walk. stuff is very polite, kind and always ready to help. strongly recommend to choose this property for staying in Worcester

Superb

Location easily found, convenient street parking and fairly short, flat walk into the lovely city centre. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, en suite bathroom, decent sized TV with Freeview and DVD slot (we bought a couple from a local charity shop), and tea and coffee making facilities. The hostess was very pleasant and welcoming and the breakfast was excellent. Worcester itself has plenty of nice old buildings and pubs, a great feel and we had a fantastic meal in Impasto, although we were lucky to get a seat without booking in advance.

The shower was a little weaker than we like it although the water was nice and hot. On the second night there was a slightly annoying banging sound about every 30 minutes or so but we couldn't work out if it was in the building or not and forgot to mention it in the morning (and we slept fine as the bed was so comfortable). Because it was January many of the old houses and museums in Worcester were shut and the Severn burst its banks so the pleasant-looking river walk was flooded.

Exceptionally clean room. En-suite with a bath a real treat. Good supply of tea and coffee. Comfortable bed.Lesley the owner was really helpful sorting the parking for us on our day of arrival.Tasty breakfast.

A warm and welcoming home from home!

My Mum and I had a wonderful stay at The Shrubbery Guest House and were made very welcome. The host was warm and friendly - nothing was too much trouble - and breakfast was delicious. The room was clean and warm and just perfect to return to after a busy day exploring the city. If, like us, you have travelled by public transport, the guest house is right on a bus route which is handy when arriving with luggage but the city and train station are only ten minutes away on foot anyway - so it is great for location!
