Old, traditional pub as stated. Exceptional location.

We liked the location and we had a lovely meal there with our friends.

It was a "pub" therefore we expected to be able to drink until 11pm but last orders were at 9.30 thats a bit early for me to go to bed especially on holiday! The public areas were very grubby. The bed was very high - I am only 5ft and could not reach it I had to request a step. A member of staff (male been there 38 years) was very very rude to us. On arrival there is a space in front of the pub that asks people not to park there as it was for staff only. However, there was nowhere else to park for us to unload our cases. So as it was empty I asked if we could park there until we unloaded our cases. Of course we were told so we did. It was a hot day and after climbing stairs etc a drink was well needed. So again I asked the lovely lady if we would be ok for about 10 minutes while we had a cold drink and she said yes of course. After a few minutes a car turned up hooting! He got out and started shouting to everyone sitting outside "who does THAT (ours) car belong to"! I stood up and he started yelling at me in front of everyone. He wouldnt listen to me trying to explain that we were told it would be ok for 10 minutes he just went on and on - it was very embarassing for us and, also for the other staff who were trying to calm him down!!! Next day we were told that he never parks there anyway he just wanted to make a statement! Nasty man!
