We loved this charming, spacious, beautiful, castle room in the fairy tale village of Monemvasia!

I can't express how wonderful this property was! Monemvasia itself is like a fairy tale setting - there are a number of units available throughout the village along narrow cobblestones streets. What I loved about this property was the convenience of being close to the town entrance and the main "street" of artisans and cafes, without being in the middle of everything. The room itself was gorgeous and charming - eclectic and wonderful decor that fit the setting. Very spacious. It felt like we were in a castle (which we were). The owners were incredibly responsive. They provided perfect instructions to get to the unit. We did not want to leave!

Would be nice to have a bathroom or even just a toilet on the upper floor- for people with mobility issues or just not wanting to go down stairs in the middle of the night who are staying upstairs. Bathroom itself quite small. But this was part of the charm and not a problem for us. Also, other units might be located along the outer walls where they could have terraces or views directly onto the sea - ours had tons of windows and views of the sea from afar over other parts of the castle, which we loved, but expectations are important so wanted to share hits information. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Disappointing apartment in Monemvasia.

Vecchia Casa is located near the main and is easily accessible. The rooms are large, and the apartment is nicely decorated.

There wasn‘t really a kitchen. Cooking meals was impossible. There was a bathroom sink in the „kitchen“ for washing up. The bathroom was minuscule. There was no possibility to store personal toiletries. It was not possible to shower without flooding the entire bathroom floor. There were no sitting possibilities in the living room other than on the beds. The dining was large, but shared with two beds. For the price quality was lacking.

Great place to stay inside the walls of Monemvasia.

Great location within the walls of Monemvasia; short and easy walk from the gate, very quiet, comfortable beds, sunrise views, large common space to relax; complementary coffee, juice, water, fresh fruit, and breads, plus a nice welcome plate of cookies. This was great for our group of 5 adult family members. The later check-out time was also appreciated.

There is only one private bedroom for two - the other beds are in two common areas. We knew this ahead of time and it wasn't a problem for us but could be an issue for others. We knew ahead of time that we would be on our own for parking so this isn't a complaint about the property but something to be aware of in general when staying anywhere within the walls of the city; after dropping off the bags at the gate the nearest parking I found was 0.5 miles away, and someone hit my car while it was parked there.

Charming historical but modernised property right on the castle itself.

Charming, spacious, well-located for exploring the castle area. Thoughtfully and stylishly renovated to offer pleasant atmospheric accommodation.

First of all, the wifi didn't work. There was some confusion about the name and password offered and the ones that were on the router itself - our devices picked up the latter but not the name given on the piece of paper offering the wifi name and password. We tried both and neither worked. Second, there being no bedside lights seemed to both of us rather uncivilised, given that one room was extremely large and it was a long way to turn off the main light and stagger back to your bed! We moved some of the lights to try and provide bedside lights but in the case of the larger room, the electrical socket nearest the bed didn't work.

Family of 5, one night stay - would stay again,the notion of being able to explore the castle and surrounds without need

Location, staying in the castle was what we wanted and this place was perfect. Lots of space for large family.

This was an awesome experience staying in the castle of Monemvasia. I would highly recommend this unique experience.

The property was spacious and roomy. There were 2 bedrooms which made our stay comfortable with each of us having our own room. The sea views from the upstairs were picturesque. The property t lean with all the modern amenities. The wifi was fast. The location was perfect.

Everything was good.

I have stayed before and it was just as delightful this time - perhaps even more so because it was out of season.

Nothing. It is a very very old house and anyone staying there understands that its’ authenticity is part of the magic of Monemvasia

Family stay in winter

This house is ideally located very close to the main gate of monemvasia, an advantage in terms of minimizing the luggage carrying time. Coming the house itself, it is an experience to stay in a 800 old house. Very carefully renovated with all the facilities a family needs, the house has great views and energy. One thing to bear in mind in case of very young kids and toddlers is that there are stairs to go to the bathroom and kitchen.
