Exotica Hotel & Spa by Zante Plaza

We had a really great stay at this hotel. The staff were always friendly, welcoming, and happy to help with anything we needed. The hotel is only a few minutes’ walk from Kalamaki Beach, which is sandy, calm, and perfect for children. Kalamaki itself is not as busy as some of the other resort areas on the island, but it has everything you need, including restaurants, supermarkets that stay open late, and plenty of places to explore. Choosing a room with a private pool was one of the best decisions we made for our 5-year-old son. He absolutely loved it, especially after our day trips around the island. The main hotel pool closes quite early (at 6:00 PM), so having our own pool was a big plus. The food was "ok", with plenty of choice, although it wasn’t particularly memorable. The buffet changed every day with different themes, such as Greek, Italian, Mexican, and Asian cuisine. A special mention goes to Mary, who has worked at the hotel for many years. She is absolutely amazing and made a huge difference to our experience. Her positive attitude and genuine care made us feel at home from day one. She was always happy to help, and since our flight was late in the evening, she arranged for us to keep using the hotel facilities after check-out, including access to the pool, lunch and a bathroom so we could shower before heading to the airport.

The alcoholic drinks (beer and wines) were fairly average, but that's pretty much what we expected from an all-inclusive resort. The air conditioning automatically shuts off if the door to the room facing the pool is open. We had a problem with this mechanism, but it was promptly resolved.

Mary at the front desk should teach others about customer service. She is so friendly and welcoming. What a great first impression! Also the cleaning staff is top notch and also super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and a lot to choose from. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Very tired rooms and public toilets in dire need of refurbishing. No mirror by the hairdryer. Cups never washed or replaced. Food poor. No rice on any occasion I ate in the restaurant. Nor any grilled fish. No spa as advertised. You had to book treatments with visiting therapists which took place in rooms down a dark and dingy corridor. Drinking water at pool bar was always warm .
