About this house rental
Chateau d'Argouges transports its visitors into the novels of Maupassant and Flaubert. This fully restored 19th century Chateau has eight spacious rooms w/ensuite bathrooms, an elegant sitting room w/fireplace, pool room, delightful dining-room (15), cozy library, large, light, fully refurbished kitchen and big game room (toddlers to teens); gym & heated swimming pool open between mid-may to mid-octobre. Base yourself at the peaceful Chateau w/its wonderful grounds or take off to look round Normandy; Historic Bayeux and stunning uncrowded Omaha Beach are just 10mns away. Excellent fish restaurants close by or stroll around the local markets to shop for a memorable feast back at the Chateau. You can buy the freshest oysters and seafood at picturesque Port en Bessin (7km) and try the local Calvados, ciders, and Pommeau. Excellent trails for hiking & biking. Or, horseback riding at Sunset on Omaha Beach. 2 superb 18h golf courses 15mns on either direction.

Our stay at this magnificent Chateau during the 82nd D-Day commemorations was nothing short of extraordinary! The property perfectly balances historic grandeur with modern comfort. It provided a peaceful, luxurious sanctuary after spending days exploring the nearby landing beaches and museums. The historic charm of the estate made us feel deeply connected to the region's heritage. Every room was beautifully appointed, clean, and filled with character. The expansive, manicured grounds offered a serene setting for evening walks. Thibault and his wife were incredibly welcoming. They have both poured their hearts and souls into this property, and it shows in every detail. Staying here elevated our D-Day remembrance trip into a truly unforgettable experience. We cannot recommend this chateau highly enough!

We had a wonderful stay at Chateau d’Argouges. The property is beautiful and peaceful. Thibault was an excellent host and the house was very well equipped. We hope to visit again in the future.

A wonderful place to stay. The chateau is outstanding, the gardens beautiful and the pool fabulous. As a party of 11 plus a baby we had so much space and enjoyed ourselves so much. Great location too for history and food. We already thinking about when we can return!

I organised a special reunion for Middlesex Nurses - it was 50 years since we started our training and I chose Chateau d'Argourges as it appeared to have everything we needed. The Chateau turned out to be an absolute gem - very comfortable living space and plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, gym swimming pool etc. Everyone loved it! There was so much to do in the area - Normandy beaches, Chateaus, gardens, museums, markets - we were never at a loss for something to do. The Beaches were more informative and emotional than we could have imagined. South of Bayeux, Jardin du Castillion was another gem and well worth a visit - created by a couple now well into their 80's and still gardening.I would thoroughly recommend a visit to this beautiful Chateau.
