Beautifully Restored Coach House In Woodlands Overlooking the Suir Estuary
About this cottage rental
Situated in County Waterford, this charming cottage for $123 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. The Coach House which is situated in Woodstown, is on the beautiful Suir river estuary in Co. Waterford, Ireland. It is located in 4 acres of quiet woodlands just five minutes walk from Woodstown and Forenaught beaches and only ten minutes drive from the picturesque fishing village of Dunmore East. Whether you want a hideaway for a quiet week or two, to write or paint or walk or do nothing, or if you wish to base yourself in a centrally located coastal area ideally positioned for local touring, this is the place for you. The restoration and refurbishment of the Coach House at Mount Alto was completed in 2008 to a very high quality standard of finish which is maintained by continuous improvement. The unit is heated by oil-fired under floor heating. Water heating is by central heating and electric immersion heater. An external enclosed private patio is accessible from the lower living area. Broadband internet (Wi-Fi) is provided free for normal internet usage. The accommodation is a smoke free zone. Also we regret that we are unable to cater for pets. There is a 7 night minimum for bookings during high season, ie. June to September. For the reminder of the year, a 3 night minimum booking applies.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Coach House. When we arrived it was perfectly set up and ready for us to make it home. They provided all the basic essentials along with some fresh baked bread, a bottle of wine, and chocolate laid out for us to enjoy. The views were amazing, and it’s only about a 10 min drive to Dunmore East and about 20 min to Waterford. We were very blessed to stay at the Coach House!

We loved our time at the Coach House. Brendan and Jean’s generous hospitality was greatly appreciated - food staples, home made bread and welcome gift of wine and chocolates. We loved the walks to local beaches and the beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers. We enjoyed morning coffee listening to the birds in the courtyard. Thanks for sharing your relaxing and peaceful place with us and we would love to return.

This beautiful property sits on a old farm homestead. Just like the phoenix it has risen from ruins to present day thanks to the present day owners. It’s a perfect hideaway from the everyday stress of city day life. It offers you privacy not to far from the comforts of city life. If you like strolling on the beach this place is for you. Do you like privacy? This place is for you. Do you like to bird watch/listen? This place is for you.
The hosts are charming and welcoming. We appreciated every detail and all the welcoming gifts. The homemade bread was delicious. Our hosts were gracious. Love, love the experience and stay.

The Coach House is a grand size for a couple. The small kitchen is fine for one person to cook. We often took meals in the back courtyard as well as the dining area. The restored coach house was very comfortable and the stone edifice allowed for privacy and character. The quiet roads and hard packed beach allowed for walks and runs. The grounds, views, and the beach are beautiful. The hosts are incredibly responsive, available and wonderful people.

The Coach House is in such a peaceful, lovely setting, surrounded by trees and very close to a couple of beaches. It is furnished to a very high standard and the outside spaces are perfect for sunbathing and eating outdoors. Brendan and Jean were the perfect hosts and have thought of everything.

Absolutely perfect for a real Irish experience..Brendan and Jean operate the Coachhouse with great care for comfort. Everything has been thought of. The location is a famous secret beautiful lane with beaches, flowers, and great neighbors. Thanks to the Grogans. We will return.

This beautifully adorned cosy place was totally reviving and Had all we needed. They were surprise extra treats which was very generous but the most special part was our welcome and we were spoilt and enjoyed our stay very much indeed. Our very long car journey from the continent was soon forgotten when we drove alongg the leafy lane to the Coach house. It was as though someone wrapped us in a cosy blanket. 10 magical days and a warm welcome from our hosts.

A hidden haven
The Coach House is a beautiful hidden haven, which we were steeped in luck to have found. The owners, Brendan & Jean, couldn't have been kinder hosts nor more welcoming. Everything about our stay was perfect, from the house itself being spotless and very comfortable to the easily accessible surrounding areas, their villages and lovely beaches. A wonderful place to really switch off and relax. We greatly look forward to returning some day, hopefully soon!

The Coach House exceeded our expectations which were pretty high to start with! Thank you so much Brendan and Jean for having turned the business of hosting into a fine art. Although you have been welcoming guests since 2010, the house and everything in it are so fresh and clean that Ed and I felt we were the first ones to use them. From the generous welcome package to your unintrusive but gracious hospitality, every aspect of our stay was delightful. We appreciate all of it and will cherish the memory.

Terrific Property
This property was as described and much more. The owners have thought of everything you will need. I believe the renovation was done 10 years ago but it looks like it was done 10 days ago. It is in pristine condition. Once you get your bearings, the cottage is an easy 15 minute drive to all Waterford has to offer. Highly recommend a stay.

The Coach House provided a restful base for my parents and I. My parents are not so mobile, so I needed something with a nice garden or courtyard.
The property is beautiful. It is kitted out so fully that we wanted for nothing. We sat in the courtyard a lot and enjoyed using the well equipped kitchen.
I took walks to Woodstown & forenaught beaches in the early mornings and we visited Woodstown beach each day as well as Dunmore East to collect takeaways from the various restaurants and to buy fresh fish.
The hosts were on hand nearby and were most gracious and kind throughout.
The welcome gift of brown bread, milk, etc was the icing on the already beautiful cake.
I’ll certainly be back another time.
