Located in Madeira District, this lovely villa for $149 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. AL 25736 Completed in Feb 2008 . Casa das Flores (AL25736) is perfectly situated in the centre of the sheltered, south-facing bowl of Arco da Calheta. Sleeps 6, an additional beds can be provided for children. Calheta has the reputation of being one of the warmest areas in Madeira. The villa was designed to maximise from the benefit of its position for its views of the Atlantic Ocean, Arco da Calheta village and the mountains behind. A top class interior designer was employed to assist with the interior layout and furnishings. The villa is positioned to maximise the shade in the summer to keep the villa cool and in the winter allow the sun to shine on the south facing windows. This contemporary, high-spec villa is surrounded by extensive, well maintained gardens, offering luxurious and spacious accommodation with uninterrupted 180º views of the Atlantic Ocean and village. The open plan living area is designed for maximize use of natural light and for indoor/outdoor living. The ample Miele-fitted kitchen/diner leads directly out to a large pool terrace with BBQ, outside dining table, loungers and umbrellas. The pool (11x4m), with its solar cover, is heated to maintain a water temp of approx. 20c, in the Winter, higher temperature in the summer. Additional heating up to 27c can be provided in the Winter, at an additional charge, please contact the owner for details. For winter, the lounge has a wood burner, the kitchen and bathrooms have under-floor heating and oil-filled radiators are available for the bedrooms. All windows are fitted with electrically operated shutters. WiFi, DVD, CD, games, meo cable TV are available. HDMI cables are supplied to connect computers to the televisions for guests that wish to watch BBC and ITV using a VPN Casa das Flores is licenced (AL - Alojamento Local- ) and tourist approved, complying with all statutory requirements, is registered for IVA and pays appropriate taxes, so you can rent with confidence. INDOOR / OUTDOOR LIVING and the POOL: This Villa is ideal for indoor/outdoor living and you can enjoy meals outside during most of the year, except perhaps Jan-Mar. The winter sunsets over the ocean are a perfect evening backdrop. The large terrace, provides a number of private sun bathing areas, with attractive flower beds, extends along the length of the house and contains a large heated swimming pool, which measures 11 x 4 meters. Adjacent to the pool is a shower room and a BBQ shack (conveniently close to the kitchen) with gas BBQ, a 2-burner gas hob and sink unit. Plenty of garden furniture is provided, including a dining table for 6, numerous additional chairs, 6 sun loungers. Awnings provide shelter over the dinning area. Stone steps lead up to the pretty, well-stocked landscaped garden at the upper level behind the house which can also be accessed from the bedroom passage. ENTERTAINMENT / LOCAL AMENITIES....: Plenty of cable TV channels via Meo cable TV. The lounge and kitchen have large 40 ins screens. There is a DVD/C player in the lounge and a CD player in the office area. Selection of DVDs, CDs,books, games, playing cards provided. WiFi is available for use. Funchal - 30 minutes by car. Local minimart, veg shop and post office 5 minutes' walk, nearest supermarket Calheta 6 minutes by car Local café/bar 5 minutes walk. Choice of restaurants 6 minutes by car. see more re above under 'location'.... The Village can be reached by using local paths with direct access from the Villa. SUITABILITY...: Ideal for those looking for a stylish property in a stunning location with exceptional views - perfect to enjoy a relaxing or an energetic holiday. Children under 10 only by arrangement due to safety issues relating to the swimming pool. Also, no smoking or pets. Unsuitable for those with limited mobility. Whilst a taxi service is available, car hire is recommended for guests who wish to be mobile. The English-speaking caretaker lives nearby and is on hand if help is needed.

The pictures do not do it justice is all I can say. The property is absolutely stunning and it really is made to feel like a home away from home! It is very spacious and light.
We have fallen in love with Madeira and will be back soon. Even though it was December we had the most amazing weather and the pool was the perfect way to while away the hours. Not to mention the sunsets - from the comfort of the sofa or out by the pool! Nothing compares. We were sorely disappointed to leave before the fireworks.
Our kids loved the lizards in the garden and had loads of fun feeding them.
You will find everything you need in Calheta which is beautifully done up with the Christmas lights.
We cannot wait to go back.

We spent two weeks in the beautiful villa 'Casa das Flores' and loved every second of it. It's a real gem! Besides being spacious, spotlessly clean and very well equipped it is also perfectly situated to explore the countless beauties of Madeira. We travelled from North to South, and East to West, falling more in love with the island each day. But the highlight was always returning to this stunning villa. We enjoyed the heated pool and spent all our evenings watching the sunsets from the terrace. We even spotted dolphins down in the bay from our balcony. Thanks also to the hosts and the local team for making our stay this memorable. We can only recommend going there and hope to be back one day.

We had such a lovely holiday staying at Casa Da Flores. The location really was perfect for exploring the island but also loved that we could walk to a couple of local bars and shop. Calheta was great for a nice meal and a Dolphin/whale watching trip. Levadas are close by. The house was nicest one we have ever stayed in. The views were amazing and it had everything you needed. If we ever visited again we would have no reason to look anywhere else and would 100% recommend to anyone. Thankyou for the best holiday.

We arrived in the middle of the night due to the weather conditions and straight away we were impressed. Lovely garden, great pool - very good size. There was everything we needed and more. Very well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, cosy lounge. Very spacious home and as mentioned in previous reviews the photos do not do the villa justice. Stunning views of the ocean. Planning on coming back.

The house is large and well kitted out. The beds were really comfy and the shutters meant that the bedrooms were really dark and we slept well. We paid extra for the pool to be heated which really paid off as the weather was very changeable - the kids spent several hours in the pool every day! It’s a good size. The location is quiet but we ended up driving a lot. Funchal is half an hour away. There is not much in Calheta itself but some of the little villages nearby are very nice.

This is an immaculate property, with a beautiful setting. I particularly loved the garden areas which are expertly tended. The pool is a good enough size to exercise up and down if you wish. We had a wonderful week in Casa Das Flores. The house is immaculate. The pool is brilliant especially as we had it heated. All the equipment of the house is of a high standard. The house decoration is amazing for a rented house.
Vanda was very nice and helpful.
As a final thought, this is by far the best house we have ever stayed in.

We are an older couple who stayed for a week which can only described as bliss. I don’t think i could have imagined the joy of this location perched above the sea, but including an array of red tile roofs, flower gardens, tiers of banana groves and mountains embracing it all. In the evening the sea was silver or gold, but never the same.
The house and gardens lived up to this beauty, with its wealth of windows and balconies, its amazingly equipped kitchen, and unusually gifts of milk, bread, jam and wine to ease our grocery shopping way. Even all paper products were supplied. The king size bed had a perfect high-grade mattress. The garden out back was exquisite, tended by a loving Gardener, for certain. Its colors were intermingled to make ud gasp when we first saw it. Freesias and roses happened to be in bloom, as well as some incredible small bloom bush with a heavenly scent. Bougainvillea and hibiscus out front
created a spectacular frame for the wide views.
I cannot say enough about the instant quiet such a view offered.
The house’s inside character is established by vast hardwood floors and staircase, all rooms large and opened out. There seem to be convenient bathrooms everywhere, each larger than the next. I counted four with full showers, one with a large bathtub.
We paid the reasonable surcharge for the pool heating to warm, and i went in daily, a real treat.
Thank you so much for a week which turned out to be much more magical than we could hope for

A lovely property that cannot be praised enough. The views are fantastic, the location quiet, the pool gorgeous and the kitchen amazingly equipped with everything you might possibly need. A five minute drive down to Calheta to the supermarket. 30 minutes to Funchal along the easy road.

What an amazing villa, the pictures don't do it justice. We had a fantastic 2 weeks lazing by the pool and exploring the island. Maderia is beautiful, so much to do and this villa is a perfect base for it.

Blissful break
After a previously failed attempt (Covid) to visit Casa das Flores, we were really looking forward to our stay. On arrival,
our expectations were definitely exceeded. The photographs look good but seeing the property and gardens in the warm light of the sun made us feel very lucky to have secured such a lovely place to stay.
The Villa is spacious and all the rooms are well furnished and comfortable. With 5 adults in our group, we could easily find space to have some quiet time away from everyone else to read or just relax.
We made full use of the barbecue and the well equipped kitchen during our stay and spent many evenings eating outside, looking out at the sea.
The pool was clean and a perfect temperature to float about or smash out 50 lengths.
The location is ideal for visiting any part of the island with nothing more than an hour's drive away. We visited a number of levadas, the sea pools of Porto Moniz, Funchal, Sao Vicente and various restaurants in Arco da Calheta, Ponto do Sol and Ribeira Brava.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable time at Casa das Flores and wouldn't have changed any part of it. We'll be back

This is an extremely comfortable and well-equipped villa. It is in a beautiful location with extensive views. Calheta also seems to be the best area to stay on Madeira as it has good facilities including an excellent supermarket and many good restaurants within easy reach.

A Real 5* Villa!
This is an extremely comfortable and well-equipped villa. It is in a beautiful location with extensive views. Calheta also seems to be the best area to stay on Madeira as it has good facilities including an excellent supermarket and many good restaurants within easy reach.
The owner, Camilla and the manager Vanda were both very helpful throughout. Highly recommended.

Just the perfect house
According to the description of the property our expectations were high - and everything was as good or better as described. Plus the warm and easy welcome by Wanda was a good start. The beds are perfect, the baths are roomy and the warm water (solar) flows properly. We enjoyed the spacious kitchen and dining area and the open living room with a wide view over the ocean from everywhere.
The weather was a bit chilly but in spite of that we could enjoy the 12m pool which allows really to swim.
Neighborhood is quiet, only toads, some dogs and sometimes a van trying to climb the narrow and steep road.
Overall the perfect location for a retreat. Many thanks to the owners and to Wanda and her husband!

Our stay at Casa das Flores
This is our second stay at Casa das Flores and we have loved both trips. The house has been built as a home and is well designed and equipped being very comfortable and lacking nothing.
The location is great being with locals and surrounded by banana plantations but close to tourist attractions such as the restaurants and beaches at Calheta.
We would recommend this property.

The House of Flowers with Ocean Sunset Views you’ll never get tired of seeing….
The property sleeps 6 comfortably with all bedrooms having balcony sea/sunset views. The master has Queen size bed and en-suite. The two other bedrooms are a good size and the second bathroom is at the end of the corridor adjacent to the bedrooms.
Off the bedroom corridor is access to a small beautiful secluded garden where you can exercise or read in peace and aren’t overlooked by any other property.
The swimming pool we paid extra to have it heated to 27 degrees it’s worth doing as both my children were in the pool well past sunset…!!
The property has everyday quality appliances and kitchenware that you would expect to find in your own home.
Laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. The garage can fit a normal sized family car comfortably. We hired a 9 seater Renault Traffic which if you come in at the right angle fits in the driveway too!!!
and allows you to reverse out in one move and drive back out and down the driveway although you’ll need above average parking skills for a 9 seater beast.
The garage has an exercise bike and and small gym bench with weights if you want to work up a sweat.
The information area in the house is great as is the booklet with key info about the house and local area as well as maps places to visit in Calheta and Madeira.
The seating area poolside is perfect for eating and chilling out and there’s enough sun loungers for all of you want to go horizontal.
The TV we rarely used but there are two of them and there’s a DVD player and a huge selection of films again we didn’t use it.
Would I stay again…? ABSOLUTELY.
Communication with Camilla the owner pre/post booking was excellent and prompt too.

Wonderful villa with lovely views & excellent facilities
This was our first visit to the beautiful island of Madeira and it was made all the more special for having such a lovely villa to stay in. The villa itself is modern, comfortable and extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need kitchen/cooking wise. The sea views from the villa and terrace were really lovely and something we never tired of. The swimming pool was also much bigger than in other villas we have stayed in and provided great enjoyment to our teenage boys. It was also extremely convenient to have an outside shower-room & wc next to the pool. We would recommend having a hire car for your stay (I think this applies for where ever you stay on the island ) and the villa offered secure parking (garage and gated driveway). In summary, a wonderful holiday villa and perfect base from which you can explore the lovely island of Madeira.
