Great location, easy free parking when arriving late and leaving early morning, good communication from staff, very comfy bed and we liked that we were right by the bathroom (felt almost like a private bathroom)
Price was a bit high for a shared room, stairs going to the third floor meant we had to only bring our small suitcase (not our full one). The night we arrived there was a party going on on the first floor, and the next morning the ground floor and outside smelled like vomit :(

A lovely place with lovely host and hostess with whom you can cohabitate easily. No pressure to engage, simple and sensible rules to follow, and gracious hospitality and kindness all around.
Just be aware that reaching this apartment requires a small trek up a street with a sharper-than-usual incline. (Ålesund is nicely flat except where it isn't!) If you are carrying heavy luggage, this might present a short but real challenge.

Great spot
Directions to my room took me to a room with a couple already in it, they had been given the same directions it seems. Found another room tho. Signs around saying the common areas were under constant surveillance made for a weird feeling. Screened off areas of the living room made it hard to tell if someone was always there in the common areas or not. Not a comfortable vibe in the common spaces due to that although the facilities itself were great
