Start your trip in Narbonne, a historic city where you can visit a very interesting archaeological museum, the Roman Horreum or Donjon Gilles Aycelin, from which you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the city centre. Don't miss the breathtaking visit to Fontfroide Abbey, which will leave you with an unforgettable memory. Just as magical is the Canal du Midi a little further on, with beautiful walks in view. Beautiful house, amazingly equipped kitchen and beautifully presented. Garden and pool just gorgeous.
Only downside was location. we had said we wanted a village with a restaurant, bar etc. There was 1 shop...ok but no restaurant,bar etc and the village itself a bit downtrodden. though there is a playground and tennis court. No close villages with restaurants. this was important as we had v young children and wanted to be able to walk out with them to eat at night. host was terrific and couldn't do enough for us but stayed respectfully remote. Many thanks.
