Un chalet à Newara Eliya!

Un chalet en bois très accueillant! Le patron vous offre le thé à votre arrivée. La chambre est grande, avec une salle de bain très bien equipee, eau chaude et serviettes, WiFi variable, bouilloire, sachets de thé et café, television, couverture (il fait frais la nuit!), une armoire. En bonus, une très belle collection de cactus appartenant au fils du proprietaire.

Feels like a mountain cabin (in a good way)

Spacious room(s) and bathroom. It gets cold up there at night so it was great to have a proper blanket. The breakfast room is a glass house and gets hit by the sun just right in the morning. Very cozy.

The breakfast was in-line with what we had so far but not extravagantly so. We wanted to have an early start but despite agreeing on the breakfast time the night before (7.30am), they only started serving it at 8am.

Top Ausgangspunkt für Nuwara Eliya, super Hosts!!!

Zunächst muss man einfach Hasi und sein ganzes Team nennen, die die Unterkunft führen. Sie waren einfach wahnsinnig freundlich, hilfsbereit und geduldig bei all unseren Fragen. Bei Ankunft bekamen wir am Nachmittag außerdem im gemütlichen Wohnzimmer (dort gibt es auch einige interessante Bücher) der Unterkunft einen Willkommenstee serviert. Hasi vermittelte uns auch einen sehr guten Tuktuk-Fahrer für einen Tagesrundtrip nach Talawakelle und Ramboda. Das Zimmer selbst war auch sehr gemütlich und recht geräumig, es gab warme Decken und auch einen Föhn, was bei langen Haaren im Klima Nuwara Eliyas nicht unwichtig ist. Das Frühstück war auch sehr lecker und beim frühen Aufbruch zu den Horton Plains bekamen wir ein vollwertiges Lunchpaket mit. Die Lage ist gut, es sind zwar ein paar Schritte ins Zentrum, aber dafür ist es ruhiger und ein Tuktuk ist jederzeit verfügbar.

Wenn man ein Haar in der Suppe finden will, war es etwas hellhörig im Zimmer, aber kein echtes Problem.

Chambre spacieuse, emplacement stratégique

Un petit chalet dans lequel nous avons eu un spacieux appartement en guise de chambre. Il ne manquait que le nécessaire pour cuisine. Un emplacement relativement bon, près du centre ville et à proximité d’un supermarché. Un peu en retrait de la route permettant d’être au calme. Des hôtes agréables et discrets.

房子维护的很好，房东热情，服务也好。房间里有小毛毯，这个很需要。热水充足，家庭房满足我们带孩子入住。值得称赞的是早餐非常好，有当地特色的奶酪和酸奶，这让我们有更大的兴趣探索附近的新西兰农场，并有更大的收获。

The room is cozy though quite old-fashioned. But we had all we need including pretty big place for rest and tea (cattle with tea and coffee in the room). Hot water in the shower with wall between it and toilet 🙊 Very attentive and helpful personal. We took a driver there for the trip to waterfall and a tea factory. And it was not a problem to keep our backpacks at the reception after checkout time.

Two things: 1) transparent curtains 2) Old-fashioned carpets 🙈

the staff was a bit timid and i wasnt sure they understood english very well, however they were very nice in comparison to other sri lankan accomodations we had stayed in, this lacked the homey feel we got everywhere else

Pleasant stay, amazing staff

the staff was very friendly and helped us in every way. one day they even went to the railway station by themselves just to buy train tickets for us. The breakfast was very good, one of the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka (bread, eggs, lost of fruit, yogurt, coffe). Location is very good as well, just 10min walking to the city center.

The rooms could be a bit more modern - but the bathroom was quite good.

It's a really nice place. Very close to the city and also the Victoria park and Gregory park and lake. Food also very delicious. Room is very big and clean. Also the whole room is very comfortable. Staff also very helpful and friendly. Like to visit here again.

Carnation Rest is an exceptionally cozy place to stay: the neighbourhood (close to the city center as well as the lake), comfort of the room, atmosphere in the house (really feels like home), service and kindness of the family who owns it - everything was great! We enjoyed the breakfast on the sunny terrace, visited Horton Plains (the owner helped to organise a transfer for us) and had a great rest in the Carnation Rest! :) We were staying in Carnation Rest for the 3d time and would be glad to visit it again in the future!
