Room for 2 by the sea

The location is great! You can walk in 5' to a beautiful beach on a closed bay, where the water is calm and not cold. There's pebble on the beach with some stationary free umbrellas that are usual occupied. There's an area with tree shadow, but you have to lie on concrete and was usually full. There's a store selling coffee and ice cream close to the beach. We had our own beach tent which we used to stay on the beach all day long and we loved it! We didn't even bother checking for other beaches. The shared kitchen is pretty well occupied with electric and gas stoves, all kinds of pots and utensils (including some sharp knives!) and a big fridge. You can also prepare Turkish coffee, if you want. Behind the kitchen there's a table to sit and eat outside with a view to the sea. You can even bbq. There's a terrace on the upper floor with a view to the sea,, where one can also sit. We stayed in the room on the ground floor, next to the kitchen. The room was clean and well equipped. The air-conditioner was well functional. A closet and a little library with shelves provide some good space to put one's clothes and stuff. We liked the electric mosquito killer, particularly because it doesn't use any chemicals. And it was effective. There's an abrupt sound when a mosquito is killed, we didn't really mind. The bathroom was also clean and functional. There's a washing machine to wash clothes for 3€ per wash. Outside the room there are ropes to hang many clothes. Ana's parents welcomed us kindly with a cold drink. We communicated mostly with Ana, because we don't speak Croatian. Ana is nice and very friendly. She gave us some good tips about transportation other than giving an effort of satisfying our needs. We also got a small present when leaving. Murter is around 10' on foot. There are cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries and generally whatever one needs.

One has to read the room description carefully (well, better than us, at least) and understand that the bathroom is not ensuite, but a different room next to it. We didn't like that, it didn't add to our comfort, especially In the night. Ana sent us a message after booking the room, informing about the bathroom not being ensuite. I appreciate that, but I'd strongly recommend writing it clearly in the room description in booking.com. Btw, the room is not refundable, so what does it bring knowing after booking it? Similar for the sea view, which not from the room itself, but from the terasse, or the area behind the shared kitchen. The room is pretty packed. In order to fit a double and a single bed for kids, one has to sacrifice on bed size and comfort. If you're above 1.70m, you'll start not fitting properly. Access to the bed is only from one side. The bed is also not very wide for two people. There's not much space on the floor to put stuff. We had one carryon and two backpacks and we barely fit even though the kid bed was free. The wireless in the room was pretty weak. On the double bed, our phones had just one bar of signal and kept disconnecting. Closer to the door it was only slightly better. Ana was kind enough to try moving the wireless router, and when this didn't work, she put two chairs and a little table outside for us to sit, where the signal was pretty strong.

The fact that we, could not, have our friends with whom we were travelling around for a meal or a drink! Little to strict on the NO VISITOR rule!
